Just curious. If Texas gets past ASU (they should), you get the Oregon vs OSU winner. Who would you rather play? One (Oregon) has been the No 1 all year for a good reason and the other is a total nightmare when - and if - they put it together. Both have blistering speed. That's a big if for OSU as Ryan Day has a habit of phucking it up sometimes in games he should win (see Michigan - still scratching my head over that one).

I honestly believe the winner of the Texas vs Oregon / OSU game wins the NC

Either or would be a tall order to contend with to be honest. Personally, I'd prefer Oregon since they are #1.
If by chance Texas makes it to the championship game, it would likely be against Georgia. Obviously we're 0/2 this year but it sure would be sweet to avenge a home & ccg loss for all the beans.

Would much rather play Oregon. Both will be tough games, but I think we can move the move on Oregon. They probably will on us as well. I can’t stand tOSU, but they are very talented. In my opinion, we probably lose to Ohio state.

I like our chances against either one. Oregon can score but their D is average at best.
Ohio State thumped a Tennessee team with a freshman QB and a lot of injuries.
I think we’re deeper than any team left in the playoffs. If we play our A game and either one of them plays their A game, we win.

I question the sexual orientation of both teams certainly not capable of intimidating us.

Oregon can get hot on offense. Even with their average-ish defense, our offense hasn't put enough points on the board to run with those guys.
I'd rather have a slug fest with Ohio st and make points a premium.

I prefer Oregon, but think it will be tOSU. I still maintain, that Texas didn't respect D. Gabriel when he was at ou. Our D has easily enough speed to stop Gabriel this time. We had enough last time, but like I said, we didn't take him serious and failed to put a spy on him which resulted in him running for 113 mtrfckg yards.

Wyoming, Texas State, Tech, Cincy, and K State all held Skattabo to under 100 yards. Their best receiver is out so they should be even more 1 dimensional. Their QB can run but if we play at our level and not theirs, we move on and it's not close. IF Sark decides to outsmart himself, it could get sticky.

ASU is not the team you want to let hang around.

Skattebo is a certifiable badass.
I will believe it or refute it one way or the other after the Peach Bowl result. I personally think UT’s D shuts him down and makes the ASU QB make some plays.

These game aren’t earth shattering but:
Wyo: 66 yds all purpose 1st game of season
SWTSU😉: 83 yds all purpose 3rd game of season
Tx Tech: 177 yds all purpose 2td
Cincy: 108 yds all purpose 2 td
KSU: 117 yds all purpose

Season:
*No fumbles in his entire career
*263 carries for 1568yds for 6yds/carry 19tds
*37 rec for 506 yds for 13.7/rec 3tds
*>2000 all purpose yards this season
* 1.7 TDs /game
Not too shabby. Big 12 isn’t a cake walk

Are any of those teams even close to our level defensively? I would argue that the answer is no. IF we play to our talent, this one isn’t close.

Well this thread is supposed to be about the Ohio State/Oregon game. This is their second meeting the first one was a classic. A couple of things Ohio State has a better defense Oregon has a better offense. But is Ohio State a more rounded team?

A couple of great storylines. This a rematch of a couple of guys who were Big XII qbs last year.

The other one is that the Rose bowl always delivers this is considered a tossup and rightfully so. I think Oregon is the team to beat but Nick Saban thinks Ohio State is the best team. And how can you ignore his opinion?

This should be the most competitive game in the quarterfinals.

I agree. But, the dude is a stud. Just pointing out that if won’t be easy, imo. Some say otherwise and believe Texas will handle ASU fairly easy-I hope so.

OSU is favored by 2.5. If I were a betting man, I would take that all day. I think they win and cover.

Give me Oregon all day over Ohio State if I had to choose. I would want no part of trying to cover those Ohio State WRs, and their defense is as good or better than ours. Oregon is really good on offense but I feel like we could score 30-40 points on their defense. Especially after seeing what Penn State did to them in the Big 10 Championship game.

Ohio State will not win the National Championship, because Will Howard is mediocre. OSU is a Ferrari with a little old lady at the steering wheel.
I've read that a lot of Ohio State fans are mad at him because they don't think he meets the buckeye standard. And between Howard and Dillon Gabriel there's no question Gabriel is the better qb. Howard didn't beat Texas Gabriel did.

Howard is akin to all of those bama QBs and Quinn. He is a decent QB, but only as a game manager. He won't be able to put the team on his shoulders and make special plays and win the game for you, but he can be a game manager and win it by not make mistakes like interceptions, taking sacks when he can avoid it... Quinn and Howard have enough talent around them on both sides of the ball to win it all.

Quinn will be a starter in the NFL. Howard will be lucky to fight for a backup job.

OSU is the best team right now. They are dialed in. I believe we’ll measure up when we meet. It’s going to be a great game. I can’t wait.
