With the arctic forecast next week, I was considering partially draining our pool and shutting down the pool equipment. My Vietnamese wife thinks this is a crazy idea. Normally we just let the pump do its thing when it's cold - it just runs so nothing freezes. But with the extended freeze coming, I don't want to deal with it in the event the grid goes down.
How do other people deal with this? Is it worth partially draining and shutting everything down for a few weeks?
