I'm not sure (or why) i got hooked on this show but if I turn it on, I can't turn it off. I believe I saw that it was the longest running real crime show ever? Ran from 1996-2011.

A couple observations:
- there are some seriously messed up people out there - i saw an episode last night of dude who raped his own 3 mo old infant. And then killed some random woman so he would go to jail as a murderer and NOT a child molestor. WTF. He said he was afraid of being someone's beotch in the pen if he went in as a child molestor.
- We let ALOT of people convicted of 1st degree murderers out after some amount of time served. WTF. I can't get my head around that. You take a life, and don't get the death penalty, then your life is over.
- Proud of TX - our law enforcement goes hard, and generally in the South too. With that said, saw a case in Burnet TX - very disappointed.
- Pretty amazing to see what forensic tech provides to law enforcement. In general I would say the tech catches up and helps solve cold cases
- Its amazing what the forensic specialists can find - here's one thing I have learned: if you spill blood, the best thing you can do to cover that up is to nuke it. Anything short of a nuke and they are gonna find that blood (and DNA).
- I never understood/appreciated how scared women should be (I'm just your typical suburban white kid), but seriously, I think all women, especially white women, need to be packing heat at all times, especially at night. We got some real screwed up "males" out there.
