Is anyone watching Cobra Kai on netflix? If you grew up in the 80's it's damn funny. Basically it's almost like a where are they now movie about the Characters from the Karate Kid movies. It's been so much fun to watch. I just finished season 2 over the weekend. It hooked me with how the original actors have brought back their characters and mixing them with the thoughts and insights of being a kid today. I'm not sure if they meant it to be this way but damn it is funny as hell.

I keep thinking who would love this show, Barney from How I Met Your Mother, there were a few cameos from the guys from Karate Kid playing themselves. I'm seriously looking forward to season 3.

Wait-- this is a fvcking TV show and not a movie?

You serious Clarke?

I started watching yesterday and I am probably 10 to 12 episodes in. While it is pretty nostalgic it’s also over the top cheese ball corny.

That's what made it so damn funny!!! Think of taking the bully asshole of the 80's and sticking him here today around today's kids, they would lose their mind being treated like we were in the 80's. Back then you either suffered of fought back, kids today have no idea how to fight back. Of course it's cheesy, but that is the humor of it

Team Johnny. I'm going to be disappointed if Elisabeth Shue doesn't show up at some point.

You clowns convinced me to start watching this.

Freaking Will Smith is one of the producers. I think my left eye has finally fallen out of my head due to all the eye rolls courtesy of the paradoxical role reversals and story lines. The only laughs I get with any consistency are from Johnny bagging on the snow flakes and weak minded kids.

Are you kidding, all the stereotypes of people from the 80's are also hilarious. But I specifically love listening to Johnny bag on the snowflakes.

The wet t shirt contest Google did make me laugh. I will admit that.

They bumped it up to $14.99 a month.

I watched the first episode of Cobra Kai last night. So far not bad.

I watched episode 1. I'm up for more! Great concept - silky sweet Karate Kid/Good Guys always win 40 years later with a dark edge. The bully has had a rough life. This poor guy is type cast - he had two roles in Hollywood - the bully on Karate Kid, and the douche diver on Rodney Daingerfield's Back to School. He should've won a couple of Oscars!

He was also the boyfriend on national lampoons European vacation. And funny enough, he was nominated for an Oscar once---- he didn't win--- but was nominated in 2004 for directing a short film.

What do you bet they bring back more movies like Breakfast club and Pretty in Pink, now that they have seen success with Cobra Kai.

I'll tell you want would be awesome, bring back Ferris Bueller

Wasn’t overly impressed with the first episode but will check out one or two this evening and give it a legit chance.

No no no no. There are just some things that are sacred. The 1961 Ferrari GT 250 California can not be replaced in that movie.

See I see it as another role reversal thing Ferris got a computer from his parents but his sister got a car. Well 30 years later his sister drives a minivan and is a soccer mom that drinks a little too much while Ferris is rich, owns that same car from the movies and owns his own computer firm. Cameron is a principal dealing with the fact his son is the new Ferris while Ferris's son is the new Cameron.

What do you bet, someone is lurking this board reads this and makes it happen

Speaking of the chick form Ferris Bueller, I heard they are coming out with a new Dirty Dancing movie.

It might just be what this generation needs. I tell my students that in the 80's, if you didn't have a crush on Phoebe Cates, Molly Ringwald, Elizabeth Shue or Susanna Hofs, they just boxed your ass up and shipped you to Russia....

Wait, She is a 50ish now, hardly someone I would go see do dirty dancing, that is not break your hip old, but much much too old for Dirty Dancing. Maybe ballroom dancing, but not dirty dancing

Great show and very nostalgic for me. Love how they kind of flipped the script and made Johnny the good guy, well sort of.

You are the only person I've seen that hasn't loved it. Season 1 is 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Rotten tomatoes isn't my benchmark for what to watch. The populace gave Dave Chappelle's "sticks and stones" a 94% approval rating. Rotten tomatoes gave it a 35%.

I can tell you why the public gave it such a high approval rating and rotten tomatoes didn't.

I didn't say it was your "benchmark" chief. I was just pointing out the popularity of the show.

This show is what you call the exception to the rule. Most of the time, RT is not an indicator of how popular a show is, it just indicates how “woke” a show is, and goes directly the opposite public opinion. Just like the example he gave with Dave Chappelle. The public loved it, but RT hated it, because it hurt their pwecious wittle feewings.

My wife and I binged watched both seasons yesterday and today.

Freaking loved it.

I like how they show Johhny and how he became what he was.

Good plot twists.
Predictable at times, but good predictions not.

Honestly, wish season 3 was already here.

Johnny trying to get caught up in present day has me ROLLING!

Its like the original bad news bears meet the today's World.
