OT: Have you ever met someone with a resume like this?

That guy has spent a ridiculous amount of time in a classroom. I look at his resume and can't help but be incredibly impressed. 100 ops, according to his bio-- while he was in med school? If I'm reading that correctly. So this dude is getting kinetic while reading medical books in a helo, on his way to an insertion. That's one part next level nerd alert, one part bad ass. Mad props for the dude.

How about Dr. Norm Thagard? He flew 2 tours off a carrier during Vietnam. Had a masters in E.E. Wanted to be an astronaut, but he wasn't a test pilot. So he went to medical school. My school, UTSWMS. Graduated 1977. The 1973,74,75 classes all had the highest class average in the country on the National Board Part II exam. We don't know about my class (1976) or his because the National Board quit ranking schools in 1976. Harvard took their ball and went home. After he got his M.D., NASA took him. His first shuttle mission was with Sally Ride. Life magazine had a huge write up on her, and then said, "and Dr. Norm Thagard." Never mind, he was the first American to go up with the Russians, spent a year on the ground with them, then set the American record for time in space on Mir.
