OT: Stros win 106

In 1962 my uncle drove me to Houston from Amarillo to see the Colt 45's play the Reds and Pirates. It was pre-Astro Dome, played in an outdoor stadium. We were really excited to see major league baseball in Texas. Someone pointed out to us that Kansas City was closer to Amarillo if we wanted to see Major League Baseball. But it just wasn't Texas.
My dad lived somewhere near where the Colt 45's originally played. If I remember correctly, he said they practically threw Colt Stadium together overnight.

Once the Astrodome was completed, they tested what would become astroturf in the old stadium. Supposedly allowing people to ride horses & drive cars over it to test its durability.

Supposedly, the Colt Stadium was dismantled, sold and shipped down to Mexico. No idea if it is still being used somewhere today.

He made the right decision and so did the Astros.
You know, I agree. Correa & Springer both earned the right to a bigger paycheck and have some years left in the tank. With moving on, they can somewhat escape being a villain for their entire remaining career.

They lifted us from worst to first & I'll always be grateful for their time here.

You are old.
SO... some of us are old. It's the only sure fire way I know to avoid being dead....!

When I was about 8 years old, I asked my Mother about a strong significant memory that was hard wired welded into my kiddie head and I had not explanation for it.
When I asked about my memory, it went: ( and this is just about word for word )
"All the women neighbors were on our screened in back porch. " ( We lived on a farm up by Grapevine that was just about dead center of the area between Dallas and Ft Worth. ) "You and the bunch of women were shelling peas and talking and there was music playing on the radio. The music stopped and a man said something... and all the women started laughing and crying and screaming and hugging each other and peas flew out all over the floor."
My Mother got a strange look on her face and she said, " What the man on the radio said was that the Japanese had surrendered and WWII was OVER..."

I used to tell people I was "a few months older that WWII." I was born 22Feb41 and the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor 7Dec41...

So last night I honestly thought they would walk Alvarez and take their chances with bases loaded. Man I'm glad they didn't.

That was interesting. TBS had Carlos Correa interview/ask Jeremy Peña a question.
Btw, Correa opted out of his Twins contract today to become a free agent. Carlos who? I get it though.

Pena is solidifying his role. Correa will have to find him a winning team other than the Astros

Does anyone else feel like the center field camera needs cleaning? Looks like firework smoke is present but all the other cameras are clear.
Rally time in the 9th!
