Yes, Ohio State is looking like new money right now, but here’s why in my opinion:

1. Tennessee trotted out that Baylor veer n shoot. Jim Knowles KNOWS THAT better than anyone! He coached against Baylor for YEARS in the big 12. He canceled that, and fast.

2. Oregon came out cute and did not change from their first match up. Ohio state clearly studied film and understood what Oregon wanted to do. Canceled that.

They will expect Texas to do what we’ve done, and will try to cancel that.

Here’s what I believe Texas can do to mix things up a bit:
Heavy formation (Michigan) some of this film study will show the Michigan defense too (good watch). Watch the offensive stuff though.

Texas should consider coming in with something Ohio state may not be expecting, heavy personnel and running play action off it. We should have big Cam back so that should definitely help.

Notice Ohio State defense getting moved off the ball by a not so great Michigan offensive line. They KNEW what was coming and STILL struggled somewhat to stop it. They CAN be had! This IS NOT the Georgia D line, gentlemen. They are definitely NFL caliber, but we’ve seen better (meaning their front 7).

We will have Speed on the outside with Bond and Golden. Tight ends of course will be Gunner helm, with Juan Davis (great run blocker). Helm will be a passing threat, while keeping Davis in on pass pro. On short yardage, break out Agbo (if needed).

Doesn’t mean any of this will work for us, but why not challenge them? Michigan’s running back rushed 32 times for over 100+ yards (172 total rushing). Our offensive line is better than Michigans, so are our athletes and quarterback. Again, it doesn’t guarantee anything, but if we know Sark, he’s dialing up something as he seems to coach up for big games where Texas is the underdog.

21 personnel
This is a fun video!
I believe we should sprinkle some pony package (21 personnel). It’s already in our offense along with heavy personnel.

Also, check out what Michigan did on defense to slow down Ohio State’s “unstoppable” offense. At the end of the day, football is football. Some say Ohio state is a different team since losing to Michigan. Well let’s see I that is true.
Texas can do some of what Michigan did this game to come out with a win.
