20 years in the league. 84% fg accuracy for his career. 1 Pro Bowl appearance should have been more but he played for the Browns. Also played for the Niners and AZ. Easily the longest career for a TX Longhorn in the NFL I doubt if anyone is even close.

But I think I can speak for a lot of horns on this board when I say that the greatest PD moment was the TX/VA game in 1995.

50 yards
into the wind
TX 17
VA 16
Job well done PD

Phil Dawson's favorite TV show was Airwolf. Him and freaking mark Schultis, our punter, were suite mates right below me. Mark had a HUGE stereo system jacked into his TV and when the opening credits would roll you could hear the "womp womp womp" of the rotor blades and they would literally shake my floor. I can't tell you how many times I had to go down there and be like "duuuuuuuuudes........".

Phil was always a good guy though. Pretty good golfer. Darrel Wilson used to call him "five head". Finally one day Phil says to him "dude, why do you keep calling me five head?"
Darrel responded with "well cause it's bigger than a forehead-----". I almost pissed myself.

But what I really want to know is did Phil think it was funny?
