I was able to catch up with the father of Loganville (Ga.) Grayson DB Deangelo Gibbs today.
According to Mr. Gibbs, Deangelo is in the Dallas area for spring break this week with his uncle. His father said they aren't sure yet if Deangelo will make it down to Austin for a visit, but he'll keep me posted if they lock in plans.
Gibbs' uncle is former Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints wide receiver Jake Reed. Gibbs visits him every summer to work out and is visiting Reed this week as well.
The 6-2, 207-pound Gibbs has more offers than I can count and is ranked No. 51 on the Rivals100. Texas has been a school he's been wanting to visit ever since the Longhorns offered about one year ago. If he doesn't make it in this week, a summer visit could still happen.
