Three quick notes to pass along...
a. Visit is going really well. Everyone that has interacted with him has come away really liking him as a young man. Will it be enough? I'm still not communicating with anyone that seems to think Texas is in the driver's seat. There's optimism, but no one is drunk on the Kool-Aid.
b. I was told this morning not to completely dismiss Alabama.
c. Ultimately, this is much less about NIL and much more about which opportunity presents him with the best possible 2023 NFL Draft platform. There's kind of no way to get around the fact that Texas has a starting quarterback position that is more of a question mark than his other considerations. As NIL advantages kind of wash out, it might simply come down to football, which is why Alabama still looms as a potential major factor. In a situation that has been fluid for the last week, the Tide still have a major ace up the sleeve in the presence of Heisman winner Bryce Young.
