Jason hopped on my podcast this week to discuss the recent recruiting activity in the quarterback room.

Here are the cliffs:

- Jason believes Milroe has a bright future ahead, but said there is no way Texas should have passed on Quinn Ewers to keep anybody happy. Ewers is just that good. .

- In addition, Jason said Milroe's decision is nothing new to recruiting. He said recruits always look at depth charts and recruiting classes. In fact, Jason said Ewers was heavily considering Oklahoma until Caleb Williams committed to the Sooners.

- Milroe is a huge loss, especially since he was recruiting hard for Texas. However, Jason is not convinced other players in this class will decommit and follow Milroe's lead.

- For those unhappy with Yurcich, Jason said it's important to remember he did get a 5-star commitment a few days ago.

- He said Texas could kick the tires on Houston quarterback Maddox Kopp if Tom Herman wants to add a quarterback to this class. However, unless a quarterback flips, Texas would need to sign a developmental passer. He noted how Ryan Perrilloux was expected to be a standout at Texas, while Colt McCoy was viewed as a project. Perrilloux flipped to LSU, and McCoy became one of the best quarterbacks in Longhorn history.
