ESPN had an article predicting QB starters for next season, which got me thinking who were the toughest we would see in the SEC (Ohio State is TBD).
I would rank them as follows with potential losses to Ohio State, Georgia and Florida @ the Swamp if Lagway makes a big jump in 2025.
Dont think Vanderbilt will surprise anyone in 2025 and Oklahoma is a mess though their QB could be pretty good.
  1. Vanderbilt
    1. Diego Pavia (6th Year Senior?)
    2. Nearly beat us in 2024
    3. 16/29 for 143 yds + 67 Yds Rushing (3 TD 2 INT) with a QBR of 79.6 vs Texas in 2024
  2. Georgia
    1. Gunner Stockton (Junior)
    2. Led comeback to beat us in 2024
    3. 12/16 for 71 yds (1 INT) with a QBR of 64.4 vs Texas in 2024
  3. Oklahoma
    1. John Mateer (Redshirt Senior)
    2. 70.9 QBR for the 2024 Season
    3. Transfer from WSU
  4. Florida
    1. D.J. Lagway (Sophomore)
    2. 57.8 QBR for the 2024 Season
    3. Probably going to "take the next step" in 2025
  5. Kentucky
    1. Zach Calzada (Senior)
    2. Coming from Incarnate Word/A&M (Beat A&M).
    3. 2024Southland Conference Player of the Year
    4. Could be good but TBD
  6. Texas A&M
    1. Marcel Reed (Redshirt Sophomore)
    2. 16/22 for 143 yds (1 INT) with a QBR of 58.5 vs Texas in 2024
  7. Arkansas
    1. Taylen Green (Redshirt Senior)
    2. 17/25 for 149 yds (1 INT) with a QBR of 51.7 vs Texas in 2024
  8. Mississippi State
    1. Blake Shapen (Redshirt Senior)
    2. Didnt play vs Texas was injured
    3. 51.5 QBR for the 2024 Season
