What do you think of Ewers throwing mechanics, i.e. palm under ball...? Sark's a great qb coach. Does Ewers need to correct his mechanics or go with what he's being doing or is it fine and dandy?
I'm pulling for QE to have a great year!🤘
I think he still needs to work on footwork. He's on his back foot or he's happy feet in the pocket

Go ahead and post that link of you playing college football with a broken hand. I'll wait... If you haven't done it then STFU and move on. He still led the Big 12 in receiving TDs so I don't know about suck being the right word for his play. More like inconsistent. Sounds like you have some kind of personal vendetta against the guy that's clouding your judgement. Real easy to sit behind a screen and call a player out.
What a bunch of pu$$ies!

It was ONE game!.....and I might add......one game before Bama.....

If we look bad this week
..panic away...until then we know nothing....hell, we might be great...

Can he take Conner’s instead? Or can we combine Conner’s pass blocking and DJs run blocking abilities? That’d be an AA
Or can somebody just take GDJM’s spot already? He’s the biggest weak link.

We are going back to last year's OL. Cole Hutson is RG and Hayden Conner at LG. We are going to be throwing the ball more. IMO, we need to spread that D out before we commit to the run.

Hopefully the communication will improve, which to me looked like the biggest break down.

I wouldn't count on many rushing yards against Bama no matter who is playing. Do everything we can to pass block.

If we can run at all , that's bad

Man, I appreciate his time and effort for Longhorn football but he just isn't very good. He hit his ceiling long ago..

That said, we're not getting a new center this year, barring injury. Which I wouldn't wish on anyone even if I don't think they're good.

Majors takes a lot of heat but our guard play has not been good. We've had young guys in there primarily and Hutson and Connor know the schemes the best but aren't the strongest players, Campbell and Zulu.

Agree here, which is why he is important even though he gets on roller skates...a lot. You can't have an inexperienced center with 1 to 2 inexperienced guards. We wouldn't score 20 points with ya.

Offense only thoughts....I'll probably just do a few series.

Play 1 - RPO, good read. Jones washes down terrificly here. Sanders still struggles with blocking leverage. Whitt picks up 7-8 yards if he just tries to beat the corner to the sideline. Stops all momentum and then has to try and run through two tacklers

Play 2 - JET. #26 makes a great play. Baxter needs to have eyes back inside looking for backside players. Banks does well to seal edge. Majors gets ass whipped. WTF is Conner doing?

Play 3 - BOB. Not sure what Whitt's route is supposed to be but it is terrible. As soon as QE sees Whitt has a double, and the backside safety rolls, he should know X is running a dig on the back side. He is open. JT is open too. QE doesn't get through his progression.

Play 4 - Baxter needs to sell the fake more. Nice play call defensively. Even under duress, QE still needs to deliver that ball to JT.

Play 5 - RPO. QE good read. Basic combo blocking up front. Nothing here other than some of our combo blocks came off late and/or not at all. Baxter does okay here to find 3/4 yards.

Play 6 - WTF is Banks doing? Did he think the TE was staying to help the edge? Someone ****ed up. Okay route by X. QE didn't really step into that throw. Floated a bit, but that is a long ass throw. Good play by QE and X.

Play 7 - Hard to tell. Looked like horn concept up front. Banks and Conner pull. Using JT and someone else to cave 4i and LB. Well, they got their ass kicked. Bad play

Play 8 - RPO, counter up front. QE and Brooks need to sell that better to get 41 to bite just a little more and create a better throwing lane. Good route by X, nice job getting first down by X. It was a quick out in space. X doing X things.

Play 9 - Counter up front to suck in LBs a bit for X's dig. AD runs vertical. KRob bubble in the flat. Ball could've easily gone to KRob 1 on 1 with LB in space, but QE does a nice job of feeling a good pocket to allow X to get across the field. Nice ball, nice catch, 1st down. QE steps into that throw. It had some zip. Of course the zebras went to work on this one. Missed a helmet to helmet on the QB...and overturned the play with I guess some camera angle they didn't show on TV. I don't like officials anyway, and if they're going to be unprofessional then they deserve all professional ill that comes their way.

Play 10 - This is a play we saw vs. Washington in the bolw game. Delayed screen to RB. Great play, great execution.

Punt - how in the **** did X catch the punt in between the 26 and 27 yard line and yet the ball is set into play at the 25 yard line? Is this a rule I don't know about that you just round down? My goodness I am constantly confirmed as to why I can't stand officials and think they are glorified baby sitters. Ball should've been spotted on the 27, not 25.

Play 11 - Outside zone. #80 kills this play. OL did a great job of getting their seal. 80 screws up. I had to look up who this was...had no clue. Turns out it is Agbo with an eligible jersey # (idk). Do better Malik. CJ does a good job of lowering pad level for 4 yards.

Play 12 - bob up front. JT blocks well. AD needs the ball more, plain and simple. QE needs to deliver a bit better ball, but hard to complain here. 10 yards is a good play.

Play 13 - Helm gets his ass whipped...gets pushed back into QE a bit. QE needs to side step that just a bit so he can get all into that throw. How in the absolute shitbox sally is that not PI?

Play 14 - Must have missed this one because it goes from 1st and 10 to 3rd and 9...so no clue on Play 14

Play 15 - Campbell gets his ass whipped. Jones looks like he is going to lose leverage...pocket is pretty damn small. CJ is late getting out, but would've have mattered. Rice playing 3 deep, 4 under. We run 3 verts and a TE choice route. That combined with the issues on the right side of the OL, this play sucked.

Play 16 - X again gets 10/12 yard cushion. We run him in, not out for some reason. Nice pass and catch but he is hit immediately. All the other routes were run with little to no inspiration.

Play 17 - Encroachment on DL...we got a favor here. Didn't look like dude was in neutral zone

Play 18 - Counter. I'm not a fan of Conner. He is indecisive, but he is a really nice guy! He pulls, stops in the ****ing hole, then acts like he just got home and #12 is his puppy dog so happy to see him. They embrace and go watch TV. JT doesn't block anyone either and so Brooks has to deal with 33. In his defense, he probably didn't expect Conner to stop and hug his dog. To Brooks' credit breaks some tackles. Gain of 8. All other OL blocked their ass off

Play 19 - Veer. Not schemed great as there was a player on the dive and QB. Brooks gets hit at LOS but continues for first down. Maybe Whitt was supposed to crack LB? I don't know.

Play 20 - RPO, double G. LBs took the bait. Whitt with a slant. I love RPO when run correctly. QE kept that cheese in the trap a bit longer than earlier. QE with a good ball. Nice run after catch.

Play 21 - GG counter. Conner, homie, smh. Either kick dude out or seal. What is with his indecisiveness? Banks loses his block and those two guys combine on the tackle. Campbell does a good job with his eyes.

Play 22 - Boot with a shallow by JT, covered and a deep by AD, covered. Rice whipped out ass all the way around on this play.

Play 23 - Brooks dropped pass. X ran a good route, JT ran an okay route. Brooks ran a good route. Not sure he gets in. He would've had to break a tackle. Either way it is 4th and short, 1st and goal or a TD.

I'm done.

I see lots of mistakes. And these things are either coached, or more likely, allowed to happen on the field. I'll be interested to see what happens next week in the crispness of routes, blocks, etc.

AD needs the ball more.

JT needs to step up because he looked like shit in this game. Blocking and route running.

X played his balls off, love to see it

Of the plays I watched here, Jones was our best OL. Banks had some mistakes. Conner was awful. Campbell still struggles in pass pro. Majors was second best. Not good Bob, not good.

Baxter, as 2300 stated, is lost on pass plays

Brooks could be a dude this year

Whitt is shit or get off the pot. If he wants to get looks from NFL he better clean his play up. Blocking poor. Route running below average. He's a play maker though.

I have yet to rewatch the Bama game and I sure as hell can't wait. Seemingly the mistakes, or many of them were cleaned up. Routes were clean and crisp. QE progressed very nicely through the reads. I only remember one blunder of a block and it was JT...I guess he made up for it with a tremendous game receiving

AD NEEDS THE BALL MORE!!!!! That dude is a big time play maker.

Besides one drop from X, he played his balls off again. That broken tackle on 3rd and 4 to get first down was beautiful stuff!

Can't wait to break down OL play.

Baxter, I haven't a clue how many pass plays he was in on.

Brooks was solid, again.

Whitt definitely stepped up.

NIL can pay a lot now days ..idk
Can't pay nowhere near the money a first round pick can get though. First round picks get a fully guaranteed contract. Even the last pick in the first round is guaranteed around 15 million. NIL money isn't touching that.
