Sooooooooo allegedly-- the MOB came out on the field and formed an IX in front of the Baylor section to obviously symbolize Title IX (9) for those of you that don't speak Roman-

Then they formed a STAR on the field while playing "Hit the road Jack" in reference to Ken Starr.....

...with Art Viles in the stands. Good.
Roll you one better than that Scholz---

My buddy is a Rice grad and he was at the game. When Briles came into the stadium to sit in the Baylor section, the Baylor crowd gave him a standing ovation..........

Ya..........

A standing ovation......

That's absolutely disgraceful that Briles got a standing O . . . but not surprising. Those Baylor folks have no shame.

That is pretty funny.

You know there has been a few student bodies come out against BYU in the big 12 and I completely understand where they are coming from. If you are agsinst BYU though and not also pressing the conference on Baylor you really don't have a leg to stand on. What Baylor did(or I guess didn't do) is just vile and has absolutely no place anywhere in this country.

The fact that Briles is still revered by the fan base and the boosters who apperently tried to hire him back tells you everything you need to know about the people that run the place. It's not about winning either you can win and not have a bunch of thugs and criminals

So, just to summarize: Vile things take place at a private Christian university so we should hate everyone at a private Mormon university?

Talk about completely missing the point. First of all I'm not advocating we "hate" anyone. 2nd of all I never said because of Baylor we should hate BYU. I just said if you have concerns about BYU joining the conference(as a few student bodies have expressed) but you aren't also outraged and pushing the conference onBaylor as well you lose credibility.

Okay. Then I missed the point. Why should people's concerns about BYU be extended to Baylor and visa versa?

I don't know all the details but as I understand it a couple student bodies in the big 12 have expressed concerns about What they view as discrimatory policies(gays, etc) and feel like admission in to the big 12 is embracing those ideas. I don't know that I agree, but where I think it relates to the Baylor situation is if you are worried about BYU representing the conference you should be equally concerned about baylor(more really). If it's really about presenting a good example.

Oh good grief Hickey, overreact much? He never said anyone should hate the Mormon cult, relax.

This is freaking amazing. Baylor is trash, I hope they have to give up football.

Okay, thank you. I get why they might think that way but I, like you, am not sure I agree.

Except that your reference to them as a cult instead of a religion shows how you feel about them.

NCAA won't do it. We've proven they are more concerned with potty rooms than rapists. FBI won't do it. They are too busy looking stupid and inept. DPS wants nothing to do with anything in waco----- waco pd was in the bag with baylor---- who's left?

It's not going to happen but someone that knows more than me. Are there grounds for removing a team from the conference? If there is and the big 12 was on more solid footing that might be an option. Outside of that I agree nothing will happen.

Several gay and lesbian groups wrote a letter to Bob bowlsby expressing their views on BYU and their descriminatory policies at BYU where they said that "no sexual contact may occur between men and men, women and women or men and women" and now they are framing that as "antigay" when in reality it's "anti sex out of wedlock". I'm sure we all had sex out of wedlock so I won't judge.... I think that's a bit out there but it's there deal....
But for a gay/lesbian group to target the Mormons of all people-- literally the least of their problems-- is stupid. The Mormons are good people. Target someone else for Petes sake.

Okay, in that context then that's pretty silly. BYU doesn't seem to be targeting just gays/lesbians but, as you say, any sex out of wedlock.

They are the sole reason I put a security gate up at my place. Unrelenting. Are you familiar with the Mormon church and it's "operations"? I doubt you are or you would understand my comment. It's just my opinion.

I have one UT degree and two Baylor degrees on my wall. Anyone that says Baylor is trash is speaking out their a$$
Haha yes I'm referring to the standing O for Viles AND the way the football program and university have handled this whole rape scandal. I have always respected Baylor as a University of higher education, no doubt.

Sexual assault is vile. No one should applaud it. But, I can assure you, I was at graduation commencement at Baylor in August 2016. Everyone I spoke to is disgusted by it.

Have you seen the South Park episode about heaven? Seems you need to be Mormon to get in.

So, it's not for burglars but for Mormons? Wow, they must be dangerous.

I'm not sure to what specific "operations" you are referring but I'm all ears (or eyes as it were) if you'd like to fill me in.

So who gave Briles his standing O?
If Briles is telling his players to go rape, then he is a piece of crap. If Briles threatened victims if they were to press charges, then he is trash. Here's the problem - we don't know what he did. Only a few know, and none are on this board. The Pepper Hamilton Report which is now being viewed as inerrant as the Bible itself gave 98 recommendations for improvement ... but not one was to can the coach. I am of the view, as consistently stated, that the BOR must have the goods on Briles, or else they wouldn't can the golden goose. However, I also see that not one single other coach was fired, suspended or otherwise censored. Why? If we are to jump to conclusions, as so many are want to do, there is no way on God's green earth that the staff (and others) didn't know what Briles was up to (whatever that was). Which means either (a) Briles was up to nothing, the BOR caved to public pressure and offered up a sacrificial lamb, or (b) the BOR is a bigger piece of crap than Briles and kept on staff that was, at worst, complicit in what happened, whatever that was. I went to the SMU game and it was the most depressing thing I've been too. It was like visiting a close relative in hospice. We love them, they are still with us, at times they do things that remind us of the good times we had in the past, but we know it won't be for long. So, to summarize this rant --- none of us knows what happened with respect to Briles/staff involvement, at best he took no action and at worst it was really bad, not one single Baylor alum approves of, sanctions or participates in rapes or sexual assaults, we need to clean our house, our house isn't the only one that's dirty, if we are getting what we deserve then give us the medicine but make sure that OTL makes a stop in Norman to cover Joe Mixon playing at OU tonight and Chapel Hill to cover the UNC player suiting up today. Enjoy the Saturday of football. I am just waiting for women's hoops season.

Well Hickey, I'm not sure how physically dangerous they are but they sure have a hard time comprehending "no thanks, I'm not interested, already attend a church, please don't come up my drive anymore. The no soliciting sign in front is there for a reason" I live in an area that's considered rural so it's not just going door to door. And yes, I stand firm in my opinion.

Baylor crowd at rice stadium last night when he walked in to take his seat.
I guess I'm totally surprised he would be seen in a football stadium, muck less at a freaking Baylor football game ??? Wha am I missing?

I ain't mad at you. I'm mad at the lack of institutional control-- which does fall on the head coach and AD- and I'm super pissed that the feckless NCAA has yet to say a word.
