Here are the highlights of Texas sophomore quarterback Sam Ehlinger’s media availability on Tuesday:

--- When asked about leading Texas back to the Big 12 Championship Game, Ehlinger said the team bought in to the culture, and he believes this program is heading in the right direction.

--- Ehlinger was asked why he got back on Twitter after stating a few weeks ago he was off social media. He said, “I don’t know, honestly. I shouldn’t be on it.”

--- When asked who he was tweeting at yesterday, Ehlinger said, “I was just tweeting myself.” Ehlinger also said he did not know what the phrase “Okay. Cool. Hook’Em” means.

--- In addition, Ehlinger was asked about his exchange with Murray after the game earlier this season, and he said, “I just went up to him to congratulate him on a great game. That was all. I respect his game. That was it.” When asked why the exchange went south, Ehlinger said he did not remember.

--- Murray declined to say if he respected Ehlinger’s game on Monday, but the Longhorn quarterback said, “I’d absolutely love to comment on that. I absolutely respect his game.”

--- Ehlinger is not surprised his team is a 7.5 underdog against Oklahoma because the Sooners have a productive offense that puts up huge numbers each week. However, Ehlinger said being an underdog does not matter to him.

--- Ehlinger said Oklahoma has switched its defensive coverages and schemes since switching coordinators.

--- Ehlinger on his shoulder: “This week, I feel better than I have since the original injury. I think this eight-day stretch, playing on Friday and being able to get more time to rest and heal is incredibly helpful. I think this week definitely was less re-aggravation for my shoulder. It definitely isn’t 100 percent, but it’s definitely something that’s getting a lot better as the season progresses.”

--- Ehlinger described this season for the seniors as the Olympics – they have waited four years for something special. His goal is to send off the seniors on a great note.

--- Ehlinger on what it will take for Texas to play in this game regularly: “I think we have the talent. We have the coaching. I think it’s just the continual process of everyone buying into what the coaches are preaching, what the team needs, eliminating the outside now, focusing on going 1-0 every week, and really developing throughout the season. That’s something that I’ve been proud of, offensively and defensively. The best teams that win in the postseason are the teams that progress, get better throughout the season, and really buy-in and develop throughout the season, and learn week-in and week-out. I think that’s something we always have to be focused on, and never be complacent with our production at the beginning of the season, or during the middle of the season, but continuing to progress, whether that be in the offseason, and just getting better in everything that we do.”

--- Ehlinger said being viewed as an underdog gives him extra motivation. He said it makes you work harder and want it a little bit more: “You always want to train like you’re in second place, and I think you literally feel that when you’re the underdog, and no one believes in you. It provides an extra chip, and you work that much harder.”

--- Ehlinger said is unsure what the atmosphere will be like in Arlington contrary to facing Oklahoma in the Cotton Bowl. However, Ehlinger does not believe the seating arrangement will affect how they produce on the field.
