This may have been discussed before, but it is worth repeating.
Jordyn Tyson, WR from Allen Texas is Sam Leavitt’s favorite target. More accurately, Tyson is Leavitt’s ONLY target.
Tyson has 75 receptions for 1,101 yards and 10 TDs.
Xavier Guillory is the next productive WR with 19 (that’s Nineteen) catches.
edit: Malquan Stoval is next with 17 catches (thanks, @2009Horn )
You might have heard of the next WR in the pecking order… none other than Jake Smith. Yes, our Jake Smith. He has a total of 6 catches on the season for 91 yards as the number 4 WR in the lineup. For comparison, his freshman year (2019) at Texas, Jake had 25 catches for 274 yards and 6 TDs.
It’s safe to say that Jordyn Tyson is Leavitt’s favorite receiver. You might say that Tyson goes a long way to make Leavitt a better QB than Quinn Ewers. ( 😉 ).
The only problem is that Tyson broke his collarbone against Arizona on November 30. He had surgery on December 3 and was declared done for the season.
When ASU lines up in a 3 WR set, Leavitt will be looking at a wide receiver corps (at best) a total of 42 catches on the season.
