Something to keep in mind - Sarkisian's connections to powerhouse Mater Dei high school...

UT's new head coach has excellent connections to Mater Dei High School. His son is a 2023 linebacker. Check out this nugget from Aaron Suttles' story in The Athletic from February 2020 when Sarkisian turned down the Colorado head coaching job.

"Sarkisian is the reason phenom quarterback Bryce Young is at Alabama. The relationship stems from Sarkisian’s connection with the Young family. His son, Brady Sarkisian, was a teammate of Young’s at Mater Dei High School. That relationship is integral to Young’s development in his freshman season at Alabama, as well for his emotional stability. Imagine one of the main reasons you chose a school suddenly leaving before spring practice starting. Not ideal. Especially now that the NCAA is on the verge of opening up a one-time transfer exception. That’s a worry Alabama won’t have this season, at least not because of Sarkisian’s leaving."

In the 2022 class, Mater Dei has the Nos. 1, 2, and 4 player in the state.
