Tom Herman has already hosted one new branded event this summer in the Texas "Heat Wave" and looks to start a new mid-summer tradition with a "Star at Night" event on July 21st. It isn't as novel as an idea as the pool party but I do like the name as it has both a recruiting vibe and represents a tradition that is unique to the state.

While the Heat Wave event was about fun and family, there will be some nitty gritty business getting done at this event. Some analyst have already said to be prepared for at least one commitment during the event.

The visitors list is already long and jam packed with talented players. Herman seems to be trying to seal the deal with some 2018 recruits while also getting a host of 2019 guys on board. I'll keep this at uptodate as possible as things will surely change all the way up to the day of.

One big name who won't be there: Ronnie Perkins. Texas has been trying to make a push with the 4 star DE and he was initially planning to be at the event. However, he will be at Ohio State's Friday Night Lights event instead. Not great news for Texas' chances to get into contention in the recruitment of a much needed DE.

I like our chances with Jordan Washington as UT offered him as a WR, and that is what he really wants to play at the next level. He has been offered by many schools as a DB but when Texas offered as a WR he was pumped.

Big news: Elite TE recruit Mustapha Muhhammad has confirmed that he will be at the camp tonight. Michigan is still the clear leader at this point but anytime we can get an elite recruit on campus, it's a good thing.

Anthony Cook has cancelled his Clemson visit this weekend and is expected to be in Austin for the event tonight.
