3rd-strike 'trans' rape suspect prompts rebellion against CA law after attack in women's prison
Women's rights activists have condemned a California law that lets transgender inmates choose their prisons after a biological male in a women's prison was charged with rape.
Sounds like Californians are realizing how stupid it is to lock up biological male who identifies as a woman in a woman's prison. The only reason "she" was allowed to go to this prison is because of a bill passed last year by Californians that removed all restrictions for trans women to be incarcerated in a women's prison.
"Previous to SB 132, biological male inmates were allowed to, on a case-by-case individualized basis, be placed in women's facilities. But not if they hadn't had surgery, and it was always very individualized. What the bill did, what SB 132 did is it took away all of that safeguarding," said Lauren Bone, legal director of the Women's Liberation Front (WoLF).
What's worse is that this trans "woman" had no history of identifying as a woman until SB 132 was passed. This is the exact kind of situation that gives a black eye to most legitimate trans women.
