Objectively speaking, Cal had the better QB, the better WR group and the better secondary on Saturday night. I'll take UTs front 7 on defense and I think the OLs were a wash (unfortunately you got to run block against our sieve of a front 7).

For anyone to think that UT had a BIG talent advantage in Saturday nights game is simply not being honest with themselves.

I will give you the QB, but Texas was better at every other position, especially on defense where we actually have about 8 guys that will be playing on Sunday's over the next 3 seasons.

You won because your team was better coached and our team was poorly coached.

End of story.

Pure drivel. Our WR corps can run routes and catch and we've got four sub 4.4s. Your secondary may measure well but they don't play well. Look at NFL alums by school. Cal doesn't take a backseat to many.

Sub 4.4 is a negative ghost rider.

I'll give you sub 4.6 and maybe 4.5, but not 4.4

Texas's defense is wildly more talented than Cal. It is not close. Now both defenses are terrible. Being talented and terrible is probably worse.

Based on recruiting rankings you could be right. But how bad does that make Bedford and Strong look?

Football speaking Texas beat themselves...The secondary was out of position and made the wrong reads. Ignorant mistakes that were costly. Texas should have won that game by multiple scores and should have been up by two score at the half, costly turnovers prevented that. Texas shot themselves in the foot.

You have Webb and Hansen, they were your difference makers. Texas has far more talent.

Arrogance and entitlement - it's such a shame as you have a great school and are on the road back to having an elite program.

I won't post track times but Robertson, Hansen, Singleton and Wharton are all 10.3 to 10.8 100M guys. Your receivers can't catch or run routes.

Cal in for another ridiculous boat race this weekend. Have fun with that....

They're not good, Texas was horrible Saturday night. The Cal offense always puts up numbers, it's a good system.

They won't do a damn thing this year.

Shove that arrogance in a pipe and smoke it, even the voters take notice (Coaches have Texas at 24, No Cal) (AP has Texas at 21 and SDSU right behind them, no CAL)... Hell, they're ranking Texas and SDSU above that team you love to talk rubbish about.

Congrats on the win, you're acting like an Aggy.

I bet Calhoop was one those potty mouthed UC students screaming "F--- Texas!!" to us at the top of their lungs as we were leaving their $h!t hole of a stadium.

What's scary is that I'm not talking rubbish about Texas. I believe you have a storied program on are a nice rebuilding track back to becoming an elite team. I've never said that Cal was elite or that we had a great team.

What I'd like and am clearly not going to get is some respect from having beaten UT back to back seasons. And I thought there would be smart enough football fans to know that even if Cal doesn't have much of a tradition and only won 8 games last year that we actually have some big time talent on the team. The NFL is full of Cal players and this years squad will add to it. The only arrogance here is from Texas fans who believe that because you're UT, your players are better by default.

Honestly, best of luck the rest of the season. I'm a fan of Austin and the school and I think Charlie Strong is going to be a great head coach.

Cal,

Since I am not a Texas fan I would like to give you a non-biased assessment of your team. You are the Texas Tech of the West. There is no shame in that but it is what it is. You are probably a 6-6 team (maybe 7-5) and your defense will prevent you from getting much above that. You have a shot to beat AZ St and Wash St as their teams are mirror images of you but the home team usually wins those games and you are playing on the road in both. Bottom line is nobody outside your program is going to get that excited about a team that has no shot to compete for their conference championship (and the Pac 10 is not that impressive this year).

I can certainly acknowledge you have some playmakers on offense. Not sure what their 40 times are but they looked fast to me.

Thanks to Ryan Bridges:

Hansen by quarter:
Q1: 3 catches on 6 targets, 53 yds
Q2: 3/5, 68 yds, 1 TD

adjustments/half time:

Q3: 2/3, 15 yds, least amount of drop backs, covered by Holton Hill
Q4: 4/4, 60 yds, 1 TD, covered by Boyd. (ouch)

Texas deep ball:

Every deep shot that Texas took, our receivers had an 8 yard cushion on all but 2. Texas only took one deep shot in the second half and they were not hitting the mark 2/7 on deep throws. Buechele alone had two go off finger tips, one OOB to Burt and two under-thrown (1 pick).

Another note of significance: LT true Sophomore Conner Williams has yet to allow a pressure.

Biggest reason for Texas offense stalls, weren't due to Cal:

2nd half: 4 off. penalties, -59 net yards!
