TCU vs Oregon

That's a great question but my guess he would be delighted in Bram Kohlhausen, his backup who went 28 of 45 passes,351 yards,Bram was a senior transfer from Houston and played only in a few plays at Houston and TCU and spent most of his time on the bench. His dad past away before Christmas and this likely his last game and if you believe in faith and endurance then maybe Bram was getting some help from above and everything just fell in place for him is really the only way I could explain this game.
I saw an ESPN clip where Kohlhausen showed a ton of class. He said he did it all for "Tre" and credited Boykin for getting them to where they are.

So can we stop the Big 12 vs SEC crap?
Per usual the aggy runs his mouth too early. QUIT riding Alabamas jock......or anyone elses in the conf your team is in. How about rooting for the TEAM you claim to like and quit acting like aggy wins IF Ala, lsu and your other betters do? If Alabama wins the Championship aggy does NOT get a trophy!!

This game was perfect. I'm not at all happy that Trevone made his bad decisions. Had he played, I believe Trevone would have beat Oregon before OT.

I agree that with Boykin, TCU would've been just fine. As it was without him, I believe this was the only way TCU could win. Had they started with a good first half, oregon's head stays in it, and they win in the end. As it was, human nature took over, and it did Oregon in. They just completely owned a team without their best player for a half. They had it in the bag. Even with their star, TCU can't come back from that. With a nobody QB? Not a chance in hell. That's exactly how Oregon felt, and it was only natural. They let down, and couldn't turn the switch back on when they finally realized what was happening. All they could do was watch, in shock. It was the perfect storm TCU needed.

I am so stoked that TCU got some Karma after their idiot QB went complete thug! I don't ever want anyone to get hurt, but this was poetic. Also, can fellow Aggies shut up about conference affiliation and wait until we actually perform? Hell, our division goes 6-1. We were the 1. Embarassing. No excuses about QB's either. Look at Baylor! They managed just fine with a little prep time and their 3rd string QB. I am as proud of being an Aggie as anyone, and that won't change, regardless of any of our sports teams, but please quit making us look worse by talking trash after we have accomplished ZERO this year. Out

I agree with most of this, but add one more factor - TCU was missing Doctson. Here's a hot sports opinion: Doctson is to Boykin what Evans was to JFF. Don't get me wrong - I like Boykin. But I love Doctson.

That couldn't have been written in a story better, Stupid kid gets drunk, fights Peace Officer, Coach absolutely does right thing and suspends stupid kid, Meanwhile, entire fan base and Media dorks GUARANTEE stupid kid WILL GET reinstated - after all, this is the formidable Ducks, the now one-eyed, three legged Horn Frogs will be playing and no Coach is THAT stupid.

Coach fools entire fanbase and Media dorks and sends stupid kid home.

Elmer Fudd is now TCU 's Starting QB. He comes out of the tunnel saying " Where is that waskle wabbit!?" Coach leans over, whispers in Elmer's ear "Ducks...they're ducks, Elmer...." "OK....ducks.." Elmer says. Game starts.

Fantastic comeback win by TCU. Major props to them!

TCU played thirty freshmen this year, and by the end of the season only had one original defensive starter playing. Not only did they not have Boykin, they did not have their starting center, a starting right guard, their two top wide receivers, or their receiving tight end. This had to be the greatest coaching effort that I've ever seen.

Too early? This has been an ongoing debate. This has nothing to do with A&M. It is the people on this board who continue to compare the Big 12 to the SEC. Big 12 was embarrassed this bowl season in many games. The SEC was 3-0 against the Big 12 and they were all blowouts. I always pull for A&M and since they left the Big 12 they are 2-0 against them as well. The point is about the conference smack, nothing more, nothing less.

Just go ahead and change your name to SEC University already. Jesus on a cracker you aggys are pitiful.

A&M is 17-20 all time in bowl games btw. You know, YOUR team?
Hurts being almost last in a conference that got embarrassed doesn't it? You were with Iowa St and Kansas as the lone members not to make a bowl from the Big 12. The others who went were beat up. I know what MY team has done. You have joined in on every conversation related to SEC vs any other conference. The numbers just aren't in your favor to support your mindset. I'm not a pom-pom SEC fan. I will be pulling for Clemson. The only way my team gets better is when LSU, Alabama, and Ole Miss aren't so damn good. I pull for all SEC west teams to lose to get kids to be less excited about those teams.

...in a conference...
Now you have something all over your face. :D To say you're against $EC West teams is a damn lie. All you do is suck off your conference mates. It's ALL you have to be proud about. EVER.

I know what MY team has done.
Then why do you talk about college football? You're a nobody. You've accomplishing jack squat.

On the other side, my team has skins on the wall. Yes we're down but we'll be back soon. You're not a has been, you're a never was.

Do I like the conference to be strong? YES. I guess you could say I might root for the overall strength of the conference but I root against Alabama and LSU in any game they play just like I rooted against OU and Texas in any game they played. The Big 12 doesn't draw the athletes like the SEC conference does because it's known as the best conference so I think A&M benefits from that being the only Texas school in the conference. Who I pull for typically is who I have money on;)

As far as A&M being a nobody, that is kind of hard to say when they are still one of the top 15 programs in the country. I will agree with you that A&M has done less with more. I've bitched about my own team as much as praised them here. There is no way they shouldn't accomplish more with the resources, facilities, fan base, etc they have. They have made some stupid coaching hires the past several years and sign long term contracts as soon as they have a great season. BUT, they are still a very reputable program so to say they are a nobody is a little orange tinted.

...because it's ALL and I mean ALL you have to brag our be proud about. Certainly not your own team.

Disagree, Mr. 1939.

Disagree. Nobody in the country does less with more than you. And it's not even close. How is that "reputable"? Maybe a nobody was harsh. You're a middle of the road team though. Always have been, always will be.

This about Boykin. He has always been a guy to be going out to bars and partying and picking fights. My uncles nephew was in town in Arlington watching tech play against baylor at Jerry world and if you guys remember that's when we played tcu and got spanked earlier that day. Well my uncles nephew went out that night after the game and ran into Boykin at a bar and Boykin started mouthing off because he was wearing Tech stuff and tried to pick a fight. My uncles nephew is about 6'4 240 and being from west texas we usually don't back down (see Scholz). Long story short Boykin finally end up leaving. But him doing what he did in San Antonio makes sense.

I stand by every word I posted about aggy. Your team has never been elite but your fanbase thinks it is.......your fanbase tries to take credit for victories from other teams and that is a fact.....

the secsecsec is a conference that always has tried to get the best matchups possible to make it look better than it is. Yes the sec has good players......but to act like the secsecsec is the NFL and all other conferences are high school is a lie....

Alabama has had the number 1 class in recruiting for like 6 years in a row. So in my opinion they have underachieved without a doubt. If you have the best players then you should win.

Who is claiming A&M to be elite? Do you have a link to a bunch of posters that say we are elite? I think we are a pretty good program that has underachieved with everything A&M has to offer. That is what most think. Most think there is a tremendous amount of potential. I've heard many analysts say that A&M is a sleeping giant. To that I say it's about damn time to wake up because that is an awfully long nap.

Again, I'll ask you. Scholtz couldn't give an answer so you try. What match ups were so lopsided that favored the SEC? Teams in other conferences don't like the hype the SEC gets, but until people step up and beat them, then the hype is deserved.

So going back 6 years all Alabama has done is:
2009- Title
2010- Finished 10th
2011- Title
2012- Title
2013- Finished 7th
2014- Finished 4th
2015- Playing in Title game

What exactly did you want Alabama to do during the past 6 years besides win possibly 4 titles?

Alabama is on a crazy run since Saban has arrived. To say they've underachieved is hyperbole. The reality is they get more benefit of the doubt than anyone else and sometimes that gets annoying but that doesn't equate to underachieving. Their current dynasty is the gold standard of this era.

Who is claiming A&M to be elite?
Not a soul on Earth obviously.

No they don't.

No you haven't.

Yes I did. You cowards running away from us last year and Tech this year. Your $EC masters didn't want to show the man behind the curtain.

Well, you may be one of the top 15 programs in the country but this year you were in fourth place in Texas.

8th place in conference.

I did use hyperbole about Alabama......they have the best players so they should be number 1 every year until someone else gets some of those players away from bama that is the way it is going to be.

You are in FACT taking up for alabama and you are an aggy fan. Why? Do you get a trophy if alabama wins?? NO you don't.

Last year aggy could have and should have played Texas in a bowl....secsecsec didn't like the matchup...no game.

Most conferences work like this....champ (unless to playoff) goes here.....2nd place here......3rd here and so on....secsecsec doesn't do this so they can get the match up that they prefer.

In OUR lifetimes aggy has been good for a short time and they cheated to do that......AND they still did not win a championship....

aggy is mediocre.......aggy lives off the glory of other teams in its conference.....which is funny because when aggy was in the SWC and Big 12 they didn't feel the same way about nut hugging the top teams in the conference....now its "we didn't win but OUR CONF did"...I could care less about what bailor, ou, tcu do......if Texas does bad it doesn't make me feel better when the conf teams do well in bowls...

Uh, here is your post on this thread:
As far as A&M being a nobody, that is kind of hard to say when they are still one of the top 15 programs in the country
That is fact. They one of the top 15 football programs. That doesn't make them elite. Elite to me are the programs that are the blueblood programs. Alabama, Ohio St, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas, LSU, etc. A&M falls in that range of lower tier 2 schools on the bottom of that list. I didn't look this up recently but pretty sure A&M is top 15 in all time wins.

Docag, this is kinda how we see it:

In today's social media climate we live in, everybody wants to be famous. Youtube idiots, instagram ho's, American idol- I can go on and on but I think you get the point. Aggy has the need to self reinforce that what they did with regard to moving to the sec was the best thing to do. They have to look in the mirror and repeat it over and over again like Stuart Smalley.

When no fruits of your labor have come from toiling in your new conference, you grab for something, anything, to shove in the faces of Texas fans. The easiest one to grab is "our conference is the best in college football!". Great, you're right. Right NOW the sec has an edge. A decade ago, it did not. A decade ago, you were members of the strongest conference in college football: The Big 12. A decade ago an undefeated Auburn team was snubbed for a national title by a one loss OU team. So like the tides, ever coming in and going out, one day the sec will not be the conference any longer. Then, what will aggy try and throw into the faces of Longhorns?

You were historically a 7-4 team in the Big 12. Facts don't lie. Aside from early success, you've regressed to being that same caliber of team, albeit with a better address and neighborhood in your eyes. This brings me to the conclusion of my first point and I'm going to put a big ol' bow on it for you to wrap it up.

Everybody wants to be famous, but in the absence of fame, many will revert to just being associated with famous people. Alabama, LSU, Auburn, all have the fame. Aggy is just happy to be the guys that carry the luggage and fetch the coffee. Even LeBron needs groupies.
