It was bad enough losing to you Dirt Burglars, but then to tune into aTm and Tennessee and watch the Sodbusters pull it out pretty much caps a crappy Saturday of football viewing....

You should keep your opinion to yourself, because it makes you sound like a cry baby. He wasn't up to par because he is hurt. If he didn't play, that game likely goes the other way.

If you think Garrett was 100% and just dogging it, then I guess we just disagree. If you think he was hurt and should have played every snap because loyal fans such as yourself deserve it, then you are an embarrassment.
Sometimes you play hurt. It's what you do. I'm pretty sure the coaches and training staff evaluated his injury and assessed the risk associated with his playing. He's a fine player and apparently a leader on that team. Shocked that you would call him out for being half-assed in a Longhorn forum.
The Ags D is lackluster other than Hall and the Freak, the safety's are nice as well. Tennessee coughed the ball up 7 times and still took them to OT, in the end UT is probably top 20ish and they're are completely decimated with injuries. Bama will squash their hopes and dreams as they hate UT and then the Ags will get exploited on D while they (Bama D) put Knight in his place by keeping him contained and forcing him to make his errant throws he is known for.

That's the funny thing about turnovers,
Turnovers are in the eye of the beholder no doubt. There are times when the defense creates them (take aways) or when the offense basically hands them to you (giveaways). Of the 7 TO's on Saturday there was a mixture of both.
The Aggie defense is a top 25 unit as was predicted going into the season. Not over the top spectacular but good enough to win a conference championship if everything else goes right.
They're a 97th ranked unit, 64ish against the run 108th against the pass and currently just above 30 in scoring D.
They gave up 684 yards last week, color me unimpressed.
Not anywhere near a top 25 defense.
I wasn't impressed against Tennessee, but overall they are good enough to win games. Only giving up 19 points a game isn't bad no matter how you try to spin in. Red zone defense is 8th nationally so teams do move the ball, and then A&M stiffens up. The problem I have with this team is that they are so focused on stripping the ball loose that they become a bad tacking team. Lots of shoulder hits without wrapping up. Yes, they forced 7 turnovers against Tennessee...well I will say 5..the other 2 we just flat out got lucky, but in the end they need to tackle better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying they have a great defense, but I'm just hoping it's good enough.
They've played 2 bottom half top 50 offenses and Tennessee just jumped to 51st based on that 684 yard performance. Bama is sound on both side of the ball and has the No.1 rush D in CFB at the moment. You're about to find out what your team is.
They missed over 30 tackles last week.
Lucky for the Ags, they don't face any real prolific offenses outside of Ole Miss and Bama and those aren't at the top.
Not sure how you can rank offenses fairly when some play in conferences notorious for giving up tons of yards/points.
I've seen Knight a couple of time this year and A&M is using him like OU did against Alabama in that bowl game a couple years ago. Rolling him out of the pocket. If you try to make him a pocket passer, that's when things went wrong for OU. They should have moved him out more. Guess that's one of the reasons OU made an OC move.
Sorry, but I will take that victory. We are nowhere near mistake-free, but if we don't get ball poked out at the one, we win by more. We have a decent team that must improve if we want a shot at Alabama.
I guess when your team sucks you look for anything else to point a finger at. I probably would too. Alabama does have a great run defense. Have you figured out yet that they beat the hell out of everyone they play? You do realize they aren't in anyone's league since Saban has been there right? Yes, I would predict A&M to lose. I would predict everyone that is playing Alabama to lose. Did you do research to figure this out? Bottom line is A&M is finding ways to win games. Texas is finding ways to embarrass themselves and that is in a TERRIBLE conference. You are TIED with Kansas and Iowa St, and those are the teams you were down with last year as well. Turn the mirror back around and check out your own team.

I'm not sure what source you are using. ESPN has them at #21 in scoring defense. In today's college football I'm not sure if any other defensive stat matters. 3 and outs are rare and teams are moving the ball up and down the field pretty much at will. The better defenses stiffen up inside their 20 and force some turnovers to keep teams from scoring 40+.
So, yes based on this I consider them a top 25 defense.
Agree. I don't care how many yards you give up, if you keep the points down, you are going to win some games.
Sorry, but shitty pass D and average to slightly below average run D will eventually bite teams like that in the ass. Product of who you've played!
If you're the number 1 scoring D, I'd buy in...if your total defense was a top 50 type D, I might even buy in.

The teams currently ranked in the top 5 AP are legit on defense and all of them are above Aggy in scoring D like top 10!
The best 2 statistical offenses that Ag will play are Ole Miss and Bama, there's no reason to list PVAM, but they have faced Auburn at 28, Arkansas at 41, UT at 51, UCLA at 55 and SC at 124. Bama at 6 and Ole Miss at 15 are also the two best scoring offenses they'll face.
They've played the 43rd, 48th, 54th, 82nd and 128 (dead last) scoring offenses in the country!

All of what you say is true but I notice you are not mentioning that TAMU has the #3 overall offense, #8 rushing offense and #21 scoring offense.
There is no question they will have to play better defense to beat Bama and Ole Miss.
No.6 total offense is nice and now we can talk Baylor? That's the type of team Baylor has been for years. Although, Knight isn't as efficient as their QB's normally are.
They have some studs on the defense, it's not a defense wins championships type of D. I'd love to see them go unscathed and win the West, I simply don't think they have the overall D to do it.
IMHO the team is still to flawed to get it done and they lose a ton on defense after this season.
Double OT with UCLA and UT, they don't look like a team of destiny to me.

Spur, you apparently subscribe to the "everyone is overrated" theory. 
I don't think you will find too many long time A&M fans thinking we are on our way to the playoff....but we are definitely happy with the results thus far. You can only win the games on your schedule.

Myles Garrett and Dylon Mack are absolute studs, the other DE is really good too. Just imagine how much better the UT defense would be if Garrett or Mack were on this roster?
