Texas aTm

Spur, you apparently subscribe to the "everyone is overrated" theory. :)

I don't think you will find too many long time A&M fans thinking we are on our way to the playoff....but we are definitely happy with the results thus far. You can only win the games on your schedule.
Not so much chief. The Ags are pretty good, not great and they lose a ton after the season. Enjoy it.

They beat BAMA in two weeks and everything changes!!! That is THE game.

Myles Garrett and Dylon Mack are absolute studs, the other DE is really good too. Just imagine how much better the UT defense would be if Garrett or Mack were on this roster?
No question, thread is about Aggy.

Is Mack a full time starter yet?

Their defense will have to be completely retooled next year, but with Chavis at the helm, they might just do it. I don't think they turn into a LSU juggernaut on defense because the offense doesn't allow that but they are much improved since Chavis has been hired. Probably the best hire ATM has made to date.

Roster mismanagement on Sumlin's behalf may come into play.

Pretty fired up about going 5-0 eh? Lol... (yawn).
Imagine how fired up we would be at 6-0? It is easier than you might imagine.
Next game won't likely be much fun, but smart people are happy when they get the chance.

Much like Strong, Sumlin did not hire the right coordinators when he got the job. Then his 2nd hire at the OC position was weak too. Now he has arguably the best DC in CFB and Mazzone has been very impressive thus far.

Yes, they lose some starters this year but as long as they keep the staff together I do believe TAMU has elevated by 1-2 spots in the west over LSU and Ole Miss and can continue to keep that going.

Mack doesn't start. He is good, but not in the same class as Garrett. IMO Keke and Henderson have been a little better than Mack, but he has played well the last couple games. Lack of length keeps him from being elite, but he is really quick and really wide. Good player for sure.

He's damn quick off the ball, I heard he tires easily.

LSU is so deep on defense and they love them some coach O, Ag's haven't beat them yet since the move and I'm not so sure I'd check that one off just yet. We've only seen them play one game Leslie removed and it was a different team on display without their best player.

He tired really quickly last year. They rotate 5 guys inside, so he normally doesn't play enough snaps in a row to know if he fixed it, or if lower snap count is hiding it.

No doubt. It would be almost impossible to totally screw up LSU, and Les tried. That state produces crazy amounts of high end talent, and puts a fence around the state really well for players they want.

yep. Too bad their AD is too much of a bitch to play Florida.

I disagree. They offered and I agree that they shouldn't lose a home game over it. That game could have been played... Florida slow played it. Aggy has been LSU's bitch since joining the conference, do they finally get the W or will LSU play spoiler? They are going to spoil somebody's season.

Since you love scoring D...

They've only allowed 14, 13, 20, 18 and 7 in their games...

This is on Florida. Their QB and 3 DL rotation players were out. They already lost to Tennesse and are trying to back into the SEC east title. Now I hope they make them play, so they can beat the hell out of each other. I hate LSU more than any other school, but I don't place the blame on them for this one.

SEC commissioner blew this one. He should have made the play Monday, if either team balked should have been a forfeit.

We will have to see if the offensive changes they made are legit. Yes they looked good against Mizzou but that's not really saying much. I think they are a rich man's South Carolina.

LSU scares me about as much as anyone because they have so many great athletes that you don't want them to catch fire. We see it so many times when an interim head coach comes in kids start to play at a different level and take it personally. If LSU wakes up they can compete with anyone.

To set the record straight, LSU offered to fly in and out on the same day UF said no. LSU offered to play the game in Tiger Stadium UF refused. So UF refused to play in Gainesville and Baton Rouge. I certainly see how this is LSU's fault.

That is the best part of the equation! It's the last game of the season.

Best player didn't even play. The problem was Leslie and the OC, not the players. Spread it out and look what happened.

You don't want to get into a defensive battle with LSU.

How many times have we seen an interim take over and really accomplish much of anything? Helton and Orgeron did a decent job at USC, nothing spectacular and USC is clearly regretting giving Helton the job based on his performance.

I think we win that game in about the same way we beat S. Carolina. FWIW, I don't think LSU has seen an offense of the caliber of TAMU yet this season.

They wont need to be to play spoiler. I think they'll run it down the Aggies throat.

South Carolina and LSU shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence and if you think it will be similar to that game, I'd take LSU on defense to pull it out.

I think you are still believing the pre-season hype of LSU and their ridiculous top 5 ranking. I just don't think getting rid of Miles and Cameron solves all of their offensive woes. They don't have a QB.
Here's my prediction for LSU: They come out this weekend and destroy Southern Miss getting their fans in a frenzy and setting themselves up as the possible wildcard in the SECW. Then they proceed to get blown out by double digits by Bama, Ole Miss and Arky. By the time they get to TAMU there will not be much left other than the hope they can get T. Herman.

My rebuttal to an Ag. You're praying this is your year. I wouldn't discredit LSU until you beat them. They haven't had a QB for years and that never stopped them from beating the Ags.

There is still much work to do before we can even think about LSU. We will be at least a 7 pt underdog to Bama. Ole Miss scares me to death.

Sorry, but I will take that victory. We are nowhere near mistake-free, but if we don't get ball poked out at the one, we win by more. We have a decent team that must improve if we want a shot at Alabama.

Exactly...I'd take any win at this point as a Texas fan, lol.

Texas A&M will win at the very least 10 games this year. Sumlin is doing a nice job there. I don't think he will ever win a conference title there, but 10-11 wins ever so often is likely.

Pretty fired up about going 6-0 eh? Lol... (yawn).

How about you win your f'ing (new) division one time before you go to another teams board to brag about how competitive the current year version of the fightin aggies are?
Winning their conference is completely out of the question for a&m, at least until Nick Saban retires

Give aggsy some credit, if Texas were 6-0 I'd be pissing rainbows and shitting gumdrops.

They still have 3 lose-able games, so it isn't all fun and kisses yet.

But now they have to keep Sumlin. :p

MSU with their backs against the wall in Starkville could be a trap game for A&M by then. Lost by three to LSU and 14 to Auburn. They could be 5-3, 2-2 by then. Stranger things have happened in that division.

Oh please let this happen! It would be so fitting for the roller coaster Sumlin has taken the Ags on.

yeah but its nothing like the roller coaster you guys have had with Strong. Would you ever have imagined a month ago you would be sweating a game with Iowa St. in Austin wondering if you can keep them under 50?

Aggy simply cant stay on topic.... Roller coasters go up and down, we haven't gone up yet.
