Rounding the Bases - Week 9

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mid-Week Preview
Opponent: UTRGV Vaqueros
Date: Tues April
Time: 630pm
Where: Disch-Falk Field
TV: SEC Network+

Longhorns take on the UTRGV Vaqueros tonight as they kick off their nine game homestand. Texas enters the game having just wrapped up their 11th straight conference series win, five of which are in the SEC. For the first time since the 2022 preseason poll, the Longhorns are #1 in the nation, having ascended to the top after the former number one, Arkansas, lost a series to Georgia. In becoming number one, the Longhorns are the fifth SEC team to wear the thorny crown this season.

The start to the 2025 season with a record of 29-5 represents the best start to a season since 2004.

Tonight, lifetime Longhorn Adrian Alaniz will be proud as four of his former players from Sinton will be at Disch-Falk. Rylan Galvan and Jaquae Stewart from Texas and Wyatt Wiatrek and Rene Galvan from UTRGV were last together on the same field their senior season as Sinton took home the State Championship, which they won at Disch-Falk Field.

Tonight also represents the first time that Rylan Galvan and Rene Galvan (brothers) will play against each other in college.
