UPDATE - JUNE 20

Here is a quote from the newest commit LHP Cal Higgins -

“Texas felt like home the second I stepped on campus to meet with Schlossnagle and Max. I’m ready to put in the work, embrace the culture, and chase championships in burnt orange.”

UPDATE - JUNE 18

The Longhorns were looking to add some offense this summer and the newest commit does exactly that!

Sophomore OF Aiden Robbins of Seton Hall has announced his commitment to Texas. During the 2025 season, Robbins hit for a .422 average over 53 games with an OPS of 1.189. In 204 at-bats, Robbins collected 86 hits, 19 doubles, 5 triples, 6 home runs, and 38 RBIs. In addition, he walked 44 times while only striking out 32 times. Robbins also was 20-21 on the base paths, adding an additional tool to his game.

During his two years at Seton Hall, Robbins started in 80 games hitting for a .378 average, collecting 116 hits, 21 doubles, 7 triples, 10 home runs, and 55 RBIs.

Robbins was an ABCA second-team All-East Region selection after leading the Big East in a ton of offensive categories and being ranked 5th nationally in on-base percentage. Aiden was also the Big East Player of the Year.

Texas beat out a number of suitors for the signature of Robbins, including Tennessee and Texas A&M.

Robbins is ranked 96 in the transfer portal rankings per 64analytics.

UPDATE - JUNE 16TH

The Arm Farm has a new to work with as Mississippi State LHP Luke Dotson has announced his commitment to Texas. The hard throwing lefty has a fastball that reaches 96 but sits 91-94 and also mixes in an outstanding changeup. While his primarily relies upon the fastball and for good reason with its rise, having a 70% whiff rate on a changeup is certainly something to work with. Dotson was described as a Riojas from the left side to give you an indication of his overall makeup.

During the 2025 season, Dotson made 18 appearances for Miss State, going 1-2 with 2 saves and a 3.09 ERA over 23.1 innings pitched. On the season, he walked 12 batters and struck out 34 and he only hit one bater.

In game one of the Texas v. Mississippi State series, Dotson went 1.2 IP, giving up 1 hit and striking out 3 Horns.

Dotson is the first pitcher that the Horns have landed in the transfer portal and the fourth overall pickup. He is the 52nd ranked player in the transfer portal.

------------------------------------------------

UPDATE - JUNE 14TH

Texas has picked up their third commit from the transfer portal as INF/OF Kaleb Freeman (Georgia State) has announced his decision after visiting the Horns this week.

The grad transfer was previously at Auburn before moving to Georgia State.

During the 2025 season, he hit .358 over 51 games, collecting 68 hits, 24 doubles, 2 triples, 45 RBIs, and 16 home runs. He also swiped 13 bags.

------------------------------------------------

UPDATE - JUNE 14TH

The Horns have taken advantage of the coaching change at Mississippi State and have grabbed a commitment from one of the best RHP in the state of Louisiana and nation.

Class of 2026 Hayes Holton announced his commitment to Texas this morning.

6'3 projectable frame with a fastball that sits 92-96 and breaking ball that sits in the low 80s. His fastball has a spin rate near 2500.

When I spoke with Hayes this morning, he simply put "I'm really excited to be a Longhorn and I'm also excited to be a student under Coach Max Weiner"

------------------------------------------------

JUNE 12TH UPDATE

The Horns have landed their 2nd commitment from the transfer portal as Jack Moroknek.

Jack broke the Butler single-season total bases record in 2025, hitting .372 with 16 doubles, 1 triple, and 18 home runs.

Jack was also an All-Big East Second team selection. His primary position is OF, so that fills one of holes defensively.

Moroknek is ranked #85 on the transfer portal rankings and is a direct replacement in RF for the soon to be drafted Max Belyeu.

Over his two seasons at Butler (he redshirted his freshman year), his career batting average is .350 and in 107 games, he has totaled 150 hits, 30 doubles, 2 triples, 31 home runs, and 101 RBIs.

------------------------------------------------

JUNE 9TH UPDATE -

Things have stabilized with regards to departures. Here is a list of the 9 players that are leaving Texas and their portal ranking.

#663 - OF Tommy Farmer IV
#1387 - LHP Ace Whitehead
#2265 - INF Jaquae Stewart
#2330 - RHP Easton Tumis
#2845 - C Oliver Service
#3184 - OF Matt Scott II
#3440 - OF/INF Sam Richardson
#3477 - INF Carson Luna
#3630 - OF Donovan Jordan
#3923 - LHP Chance Covert

So far, Texas has one public commitment -

#71 - INF Josh Livingston

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

JUNE 6TH UPDATE -

Not surprising, but Jaquae Stewart has entered the transfer portal.

The left handed hitter appeared in 23 games, starting 13 games.

Over 47 at-bats, Jaquae hit for a .149 average (7 hits, 5 runs, 2 doubles, 1 home rune, and 5 RBIs). Stewart also walked six times and struck out 18 times.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

JUNE 5TH -

OF Tommy Farmer has entered the portal. Not terribly surprising given his lack of playing time and influence on the roster.

Two more names enter the transfer portal as expected.

Sophomore catcher Oliver Service and Freshman INF Carson Luna

RHP Easton Tumis is officially in the transfer portal as well now.

So RHP/INF has officially entered the transfer portal. He tried to make the team as a walk-on in the Fall but did not do so and now he will move on looking for another school.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

JUNE 4TH UPDATE

The first transfer in for Texas has been announced as Josh Livingstone, formerly of Wichita State is headed to Texas.

Here is a quote from Josh who is on campus today.

“You can really feel and sense the level of excellence that is Texas. I’m excited to be around a group of guys that have the goals of Omaha”

-------------------------------------------------------------

JUNE 3RD UPDATE

Freshman OF/3B Sam Richardson has entered the transfer portal.

LHP Ace Whitehead has entered the transfer portal.
