Texas basketball 2025

Big win tonight against 15th ranked Kentucky. We may just squeak into the tournament if we can avoid bad losses to teams ranked below us. Our chances look good right now.

Tre Johnson has been on a tear the past couple weeks and is arguably the best freshman in the country over that stretch. He and Mark put on a show tonight on national TV. If anything, the committee will give us a favorable chance because of Johnson and the eyeballs he will attract to a viewing audience. After tonight, everyone is going to want a chance to watch him play.

When the best player on your team is 18 years old, that’s a problem. But Tre has now shown that he’s a special talent. If we get Kaluma healthy and if Pope can find his stroke we can give ourselves a puncher’s chance in the tournament.

Good win last night, I guess. I’ll always root for UT but I can also acknowledge that backing into the tournament is not where we should be as a program. Johnson will be a lottery pick so he’s gone next year and RT will still be here plowing on towards mediocrity.

Whether we back in or not I'll be happy if our boys get in. My brother follows UT hoops and he told me the last 5 games are winnable and that would give us 20 and give us a foot in the door.

Lady Horns down by 9 to LSU in the 3rd. Mulky has always owned the Horns.
And yes, it’s women’s basketball, and hard to watch.

Are you suggesting that this team is about to go on a 6 game winning streak?

Exactly. All remaining games are winnable, but losable as well.

South Carolina hasn't won a game yet in league, but I still don't feel comfortable.
at Arky won't be easy because they have a good coach and crazy arena...and they already freaking beat us at home
Georgia at home should be a win, but lose the two before it and you might have guys check out
at Miss. State is no easy location either. They're a good team and have beat better teams than Texas at home
Oklahoma at home is no easy task either because of the rivalry

Talent alone probably gives Texas 2/3 wins here. Only way we win all 5 is if Terry all of a sudden becomes an elite coach. He isn't and won't, so I'll expect 2-3 or 3-2

8-10 in league and 19-12 overall is best case scenario. Win 1 game in the SEC tourney and we probably sneak in as a play in 11 seed at 20-13 overall 🤮

7-11 in league and 18-13 overall, Texas will need 2 probably 3 wins in the SEC tourney. Not happening.

60% chance we will be in NIT, IMO.

Are you suggesting that this team is about to go on a 6 game winning streak?
Yes I am. And is we win the SEC tournament that would mean 4 more games which would mean ten in a row.

Then they HAVE to put us in the tournament.

And if we win 4 more that would mean 14 in a row and a guaranteed spot in the final four. And the final four is in San Antonio a mere 60 miles from Austin.

Easy as one two three
