What will it take to can the coach? Has he done enough to earn his dismissal this year? Just missing the tournament? Making it but losing a play in game? ESPN STILL has UT as one of the last 4 in. I agree with Drtxhorn - Tre is by far the best player since Durant - he has polish and confidence. To take that talent and NOT make the tournament is a crime. Where is KChorn?
You would think that Texas could money whip (NIL) enough mid-major talent to put together a half way competitive team.
OR….. maybe we could money whip a GOOD coach!

How do we have one of the best players in the country and look like a mid level juco? I swear ACC would boat race us 8 out of 10.

I was at the game last night. The whole party atmosphere thing has quelled some of the negative noise that this staff has earned. I thought for sure they would boo RTs ass off the floor at the half after Uga executed ANOTHER blob for a wide open 3. no, dj yell-loud and the magical lighting had people ignoring reality and politely cheering. There was a mass exodus at the 12 minute timeout, and I couldn't stomach anymore and left at the 8 minute break, so I don't know what the post-game was like. But this isn't okay.
Maybe Jay Wright will be inspired by what Pitino has done. Y'all remember Pitino right?... 2 years ago I said to hire him if Wright wouldn't come, and everybody said he oh he's too old. Well, he's putting a clown suit on all his doubters now. Some dudes just win. Pitino is a winner; Wright is a winner; and RT is a .500 guy at mid-majors. Which brings me to this, if you're going to poach an entire team, why would you poach a mid-major team that wasn't even good enough to make the ncaa tourney? Maybe they did-- i'm not looking it up; but they all blow now. We have 1 kid, and we can't even get him the ball when he's being denied.

I read a story yesterday that said UT will have to cover $20M in coaches payouts to reset with a new coach and staff + some of the possible candidates also have buyouts. Story sounded like Del Conte may wait another year.
Sounded like Billy Donovan may be on the list. I guess we’ll see how much UT regents want to have a winning basketball program.
