I looked at Texas' hoops results vs top half and bottom half of SEC. Horns were 6-12 in conference play. A 3-6 record vs top half is not good enough, but this is the best hoops conference IMO.

But where Terry shows where he has the program is a 3-6 mark vs the other 7 teams in the bottom half. That's a 3-6 record vs teams that were 43-83 in SEC games. And no wins in Austin.

Texas did manage to go 2-2 vs the 3 other teams in bottom 4, with 2 road wins, but that's a .500 record vs 3 teams that were a combined 11-43 in SEC play.

It's one thing to not be competitive for first place vs the top half of the best conference. It's another to not even be a challenger for a mythical first place in the bottom half of the conference.

Good thing this isn't like the EPL with bottom 3 relegated. We would be looking at tiebreakers with OU.
