Texas' intro music for home football games

Def Leppard was the first rock cd my dad ever gave me, still listen to hysteria to this day. But Van Halen is my fav hair metal group.
Ok so from the VH fans (I’m one of them also) which song do you go with for the walk in? They got a lot of great songs but which one is the rile up “we’re gonna kick ass tonight” song? It’s gonna have to be one of the DLR songs. Which one? Or do you just go with eruption?

I don't think van Halen has a good intro song personally. I want Metallica for whom the bell tolls or maybe Pantera walk

VH is not a hair band.
My very first concert was in Houston at the old Sam Houston Colosseum to see them in 1981.
Intro song? Maybe “And the cradle will rock”. The opening riff is good. Or Eruption.

I would have pegged you for a Texxas Jam attendee.

Intro... These guys are from Arlington, Tx. I'm sure some of you remember them.. They played every Friday at Joe's Garage in West Fort Worth in the 80's.

Turn it up and scare your neighbors, I dare you, lol. ~ Dimebag could shred.

If you’re going the Pantera route, this is the song. I’m all for something new. Just about everything has been done so far, we need something original. I’d prefer it to be someone or band from Texas.

Definitely know Pantera. Excellent song there. And amazingly no droppings of “ bitches or hoes, cop killing and racist” spewing.
Ever heard of “Steel Panther”? A parody rock group covering hair bands….and a dirty one at that. Look them up and the song “The shocker”.

What if someone performed VooDoo Child live instead of a recording….
While I think it would be COOL AS HELL to have somebody standing in the end zone playing it live, sound quality and timing is too hard to control in that environment. Repeatability is key for a regular intro so I think they’d have to stick to the big screen. With SRV’s connection to Austin, that just seems like a perfect fit.

Voodoo Chile played live by Eric Johnson (native and lifelong Austinite).

There’s a VH song that instantly comes to mind for a stadium entrance, but it’s obscure.

Me Wise Magic. It was one of just a couple of songs they did with DLR when they first reunited in 1996. Believe me when I say it kicks an ungodly amount of ass.

Now that it is almost 30 years later and so many teams are doing it, I can see where it is a possibility. Especially, if Sark begins to push for it. I still can't see orange pants looking good. I saw a long time ago a "whitish-light silverish" helmet with the same burnt orange longhorn. I thought it looked pretty awesome. I couldn't find a pic to attach to this thread

I'm partial to some heavy metal and late 80s-90s stadium rock but no matter what you choose, someone else is doing it as well.

Anyone using that mortal kombat dance mix or the old techno sandstorm song? 😄

AC/DC has a bunch of songs that would be good fits.
Walk All Over You would be bad ass too.

You played Sand-Storm dude...... you dated yourself AND you displayed a complete lack of taste in Euro techno-house-dance music.
For shame.....

What's next- the crowd drops Xtasy five minutes before the game starts?

Oh no sir, I simply googled high energy laser light show and those were in the dated list....which brought back memories. Lol.

Come on man, I spent a chunk of my early 20's in the UK. Definitely had my fill of techno/rave/edm/house/& fresh prince of Belair theme song.

Trust me, I'd much rather Welcome to the Jungle, Nightmare by A7X or even the intro to VHs Hot for Teacher.

BABY SHARK DO DO DO DO DO DO!!!!

Ha. Made me laugh. I too was in London in the early to mid 2000s quite a bit. I'd hit the techno clubs in Piccadilly and even venture to south London in Brixton to hit the rave clubs. Fun places. Wild nights.
But nothing compared to the Dutch. The clubs in Amsterdam (I called them Untz Untz clubs) were next level. Dutch chicks in bikinis and high heels swinging around chem lights (glo-sticks) tied to fishing line-- one orange, one yellow-- like ninjas with nunchucks, bass so loud your fvcking teeth rattled, pounding Amstel and Grolsch because Heineken fvcking sucks- and every 30 minutes doing a shot of Absynth or Jenever with whatever chick was standing at the bar next to you. Then stumbling back to your hotel and stopping to get a doner or stoopwafel from some street vendor on the way.

Good times.
