Just talked to Thibodaux (LA) DB Amik Robertson, who picked up a UT offer tonight.
We've reported on Robertson a couple times, first when he scheduled a visit to UT and again last week, after he cancelled that visit and decided to go see LSU instead (Robertson visited Houston on 1/20 and will visit LSU this weekend).
Texas actually talked to him about an offer a couple weeks ago, but it was as an offensive player. Robertson wasn't interested. Tonight, UT called him and told him they would like to offer him as a DB. He is interested, but plans to stay with his scheduled visit for LSU this weekend.
He's supposed to talk to Jason Washington tonight about setting up a school or in-home visit for sometime this week (would have to be tomorrow or Friday). While he does seem interested in Texas, it's going to be hard to get him to commit without him having ever stepped foot on campus, especially with an LSU visit coming up in a couple days.
Of note ... In talking to Robertson, he's paying close attention to recruiting numbers at his position so if Kary Vincent is heading to LSU, that could actually be a good sales pitch for Texas.
