As expected, Cam Williams OT has committed to the good guys

All these "top recruiting classes" we've had, and we got our first 5 star o-line yesterday since 06? Says to me our classes were paper tigers-- bunch of WR types that hit the camp circuit, shmooze the recruiting reporters and get extra stars by grabbing one handers in underwear. You can find WR and rb at stripes and circle k.. Probably not allsups. Give me monsters and secondary guys and edge rushers. THAT'S meat and potatoes

This recruiting class is heavy on all those positions you mentioned. I’m just glad to have a coach that puts emphasis on recruiting offensive and defensive line. That’s been out biggest issue the last 10 years.

Ewers will be announcing within next 24 hours and it appears even Tech is throwing in the towel.
Some chatter from Ketchum that we could hear something tonight about a DE in the’23 class.

With Quinn now in does Evan Stewart flip back to Texas? Some chatter that he will… we shall see

I’m only happy about getting Quinn because we’re finally recruiting a line to help him. We’ve had good QBs, but no line. That’s been our problem.

All this Doom and gloom about NIL ending college sports it’s all nonsense. This all assumes that college players hadn’t been being paid under the table for decades. Every big time school did it, some got in trouble some got away with it but everyone was doing it. Now it’s just out in the open and rules to it. College sports won’t change much

When my brother went to UT in the early 1960's, he said it seemed like all the star players drove new cars!

I disagree. When Deion went to the Cowboys, I had a hard time rooting for him and my team. He was a hired hand who had just come from the enemy (the 49'ers). Then when TO came over from the Eagles to the Cowboys, I was done with the NFL. College will not be far behind. There is a reason why the fan base in college is so much more passionate than the pros. I don't begrudge the players for getting their money, but they are now hired hands who can check out the portal at any time, and with no affinity or loyalty to the school. Not sure if there is any other way around it, but it is what it is.

Guys transfered long before the portal. Is there more of it? Yes, but the coaching movement is at an all time high as well. Take what happened this week. If cristbol doesn’t move to Miami banks and Campbell probably don’t end up at Texas. On the flip side of that if the coach at Texas had been anyone other than Herman Quinn is probably at Texas all along. If you want to decrease player movement decrease the coaching movement. How do you do that? I’m not sure but they are tied together most of the time.

Come on man it's not like these kids are transferring to 4 schools in 4 years. Most kids are transferring and it's one time deal.

Anyone know the latest on where we stand with some of the top recruits before ESD? I know there were some rumors about Stewart and Dewberry, but sounds like Theyre going to aggie.

the portal IS a one time deal. If they transfer after have done a portal, they have to sit out a year just like always.

Cam Williams is a big time get....but he may have to lose 40 lbs to be effective in College ball. That clip of his may have excited some of y'all, but it showed me why he is a 3 star. I have faith Flood will get him in shape.

Right. A lot of the “doom and gloom” in college football involves not knowing the complete rules

Rumor has it, Armani Winfield has been calling Texas for weeks trying to get back in this class, even apologized, but Sark didn’t like the way he decommitted, and is letting him know it. I like it.
Yeah. Sark at the end of the season talked about buy in and wanting guys that wanted to be here, and if you didn’t that was cool. I could see him not maybe taking a guy that now is trying to get back on board now that Texas is the popular place to be. I could see Sark using this as a message to future recruits. Get on board and stay on because once you get off we move ob

I have a feeling we end up getting him back. Sark is just basically making him prove this is where he wants to be. If it were up to Armani he would already be back in the fold.

Btw, all this coming from Justin Wells at IT.
