Texas Recruiting

This is beyond awesome. This was a must get. Gazillion props to Flood and Sark.
Deep sigh of relief. Maybe he wanted an audience to watch him on signing day. That's fine nothing wrong with that. Hey, he's the #3 ranked player in TX and that's something to be proud of. Welcome Devon you and the other ol recruits in this class are already better than the bunch we have on campus. And as always

Supposedly, he has a low key demeanor and a mean streak on the field. While we are at it, I think we also owe our kick ass NIL specialists a very special thank you.

The offensive line is going to look completely different next year. Campbell and Banks are a really nice addition and are probably day 1 starters next season. This is a good start to getting this program back on track. Just have to produce on the field now.

the kid is athletic as hell. Over 300 lbs and can dunk a basketball. Is known to have very quick feet.Super strong...247 had him as the best Olineman in the 2022 class. If he was so inclined, he would be a starter on the Dline from day one....

This has got to be one of the best ol classes in the country. Lord knows we needed it. Desperately. I wonder which one will start on opening day. You could say that about any of our recruits.

I'm admittedly barely following recruiting at all these days, so my apologies if the answers to these questions are well known.

Has that disgusting saboteur b*tch Plonsky been fully neutralized in whatever her earlier efforts were to obstruct NIL deals for Texas recruits/players? Is there good reason to think we're going to catch up posthaste to whatever it is that aggy is doing better than us on the NIL front?

a&m going 8-4 again this year would be gold. God, please let this happen, lol! 😆
Happy to pass the overrated team from Texas mantle to them.
They have a D rebuild to match last year’s O rebuild. They’ll be Texas 8-4 again.

Yes, she has been removed from the process.

If we’re behind in NIL compared to other schools it certainly didn’t show up in recruiting

My vision and where Texas needs to be is to bring in DL and OL classes like this every year and redshirt every one of them to give them a year in the S&C program. Those two position classes are the ones where having the luxury of not having to play true freshmen and having a three-deep roster is what makes a team championship caliber. Texas is a long way from that right now, but this class is a great starting point of hopefully this type of thing to come.

Ewers had more yards and the same amount of tds as Klubnik did. I just didn't feel like arguing with a stupid Aggie who doesn't know what he's talking about.
True and it’s a tough call but that’s really not fair to the others who played the required amount of games. BYU screwed the deal this weekend by getting run by Coastal Carolina.

Make no mistake Ohio State May be top 4 but...

We need to expand the playoffs.

Whew, Thx MM,,,,thought i was gonna have to listen to Herby for 4 hours,,,,haha.
Poor aggy!!!
Sh,, NO way aggy is bettern Florida!!!

Let me clarify. A Playoff to determine a stand alone champion is dumb.

People bitch about ND choking, but want to expand that would ensure their place annually.
People bitch about G5 schools not playing anyone, but want to expand that would ensure their place annually.
People bitch about teams getting in that don't win their division, but want to expand that would ensure their place annually.

March Madness is popular in basketball because the regular season is pretty inconsequential.

^^this! And I could care less about college basketball

How would you feel if LSU beat OU

I'm quite certain, he is incapable of "overthinking" anything.

I'm kinda surprised/disappointed that someone didn't moon him!!! Pr,,,k !!

I don't follow closely enough, but what makes LJ a better recruit than Brooks? Why is he higher ranked?

Actually at the end of the 2019 season, Robinson was rated higher than Evans by Rivals. There is no comparison between the two backs, IMO. Evans has some baggage and ethical issues that Robinson does not have.

Completely irrelevant. Besides you fire Shaka who you hiring? And don’t say Chris beard it’s not a feasible option. Not this year anyway

Just remember - no beans in chili, Whataburger > In N Out, aggy eats sh!t, ou sux and you should be fine.

Hook’em

Sorry, I must have missed a&m's games in regionals and super regionals. How did they do?

And in the end,,,,you'll still be aggy, nuff said!!!

Wow...Texas loses A&M wins....,

Sark will be back next year, but going out with a 7-game losing streak isn't good for any coaches career. If there isn't drastic improvement, he won't make it past next year. That said, I can't think of any coach right now who can turn this program around.

We are talking about your typical teenage football recruit. If you didn’t pay them then there is zero chance they’d ever want to live in CS.

As interesting as the Texas portal this year? Texas backing up the money truck for Ewers and publicly offering any offensive lineman 50K to play for them screams desperation and there is no room to call out anyone when offensive linemen all of a sudden starting committing. Hmmmm. Snake oil Sark is at it too I guess.

As for comparison of why anyone would want to play for A&M would show you haven't paid attention to what A&M is doing and renovations that have been made. That stadium is legit, the game day atmosphere is far better than anything that Texas can offer. The facilities are 2nd to none. College Station is a football town. That is what makes it attractive. Texas is the capital which makes it just another city. A lot of players don't like that. College Station revolves around the team. I would love to live in College Station, but people have to move for job purposes, not because they want out of College Station. Austin isn't for everyone and it doesn't have a "family" feel to it which is what most players say they enjoy about A&M.

Ewers had more yards and the same amount of tds as Klubnik did. I just didn't feel like arguing with a stupid Aggie who doesn't know what he's talking about.
Did you watch the game? I did. He was outplayed. He has a lot of talent though, no doubt.

Absolutely! Texas was slow out of the gate to embrace NIL and get things organized, but now it appears that they've got a plan and are working it the way they need to be worked and utilized. The programs who fully embrace NIL are going to be successful going forward. Those who do not are going to be left in the dust. Keep an eye on Clemson. Dabo has said several times publicly how he does not like NIL and how much he's against it.

With the lack of talent on both lines I don’t think we will have the luxury of redshirting Campbell or Banks this year. Both of those guys are day 1 starters from everything I have seen on their tape.

Agree. My point was long term, we don't want to have to start true freshmen on either line if possible. The most important position groups on the team from the standpoint of redshirting and building depth is the OL and DL.

Not sure the numbers are there to even take them.

At this point I think that is the case. However, from here until the end of spring ball, I think that there will be some more attrition, which is needed to weed out more malcontents, which will free up additional roster spots.

You can only take 7 transfers a year.
Do you spend the last two on them(taking Mathis for granted for 5) or address LB and WR during post Spring camp portal guys?

Keep in mind we just signed the highest rate OL class ever by any school(thank you Miami).

Right. By the Fall the scholarship numbers count towards the 2023 class.
