With a few new commitments, this thing was due for an overhaul. Some thoughts ...
QB - Nothing new there. It's the Roschon Johnson show and not much else happening.
RB - Texas added one commitment and will now try to close out with a guy like Trey Sanders or Noah Cain. The Longhorns have a shot at both guys, but I wouldn't call UT the leader for either.
WR - Three commitments and top target Marcus Washington set to decide later this month. All the buzz is about Texas after he visited for the USC game. There are still others on the board, including Elijah Higgins, but Washington is the big story here.
TE - Nothing new to report here. Texas has its two, both are rock solid, and the staff has closed up shop at this position.
OL - I'm sure Herb Hand has a plan, but it's weirdly quiet aside from the two commitments. One note ... I did move Rodas Johnson to OL because I'm told that's where UT is looking at him, but Texas isn't pushing too hard in this one so he's in the "on the radar" section.
DE - Two commitments and Texas will get a visit from Marcus Stripling, but the Longhorns trail there.
DT - Your guess is as good as mine. I keep waiting for new targets to pop up. Taurean Carter is still being evaluated and a couple OOS guys continue to mention Texas, but those are going to be tough battles. Who is this year's Moro Ojomo?
LB - David Gbenda's commitment gives the Longhorns three at this position. Texas is still after a couple JUCO guys, including Caleb Johnson, who told me he'll visit after his season ends.
DB - With UT up to four commitments, there's not much more room here. Jalen Catalon and Lewis Cine are the most likely guys to fill out the class, if UT can land one of them.
