Following Paris, Obama openly derided Republicans for being afraid of “widows and orphans” among the Syrian refugees and insisted refugees were permitted admittance only after “rigorous screening and security checks” overseen by the DHS. Days ago we learned San Bernardino shooter Tashfeen Malik passed multiple background checks by immigration officials as she relocated to the United States from Pakistan, and no one noticed that she openly advocated violent jihad on social media. We also learned her husband was in contact over the phone and via social media with more than one international-terrorism suspect.

That brings us to Monday’s press conference in Turkey. For an instant, it appeared like the media had finally understood the overwhelming failure of Obama’s strategy. One reporter after another asked the dyspeptic and self-justifying president why we are not making more progress against these rapists, slavers, and murderers.

Obama’s indecisiveness and ineptness started the migration of refugees. He’s now using refugees as a theatrical prop to prove he’s the champion of his own morality tale. The reality is that he’s a villain in his own playhouse of the absurd. And we’re the dupes in the audience that have to live with the results.
