The reason we lost:

Fun stat for everyone-

Red zone offense.

Where do you think Texas ranks?
Top 10?
Top 25?
Top 50?
Top 75?
Top 90?

No cheating. Where do you think we rank? My guess was 30.

Then I looked it up.

Ready?

We are ranked number

Noventa y dos

Yup.

Ninety two.

Ninety fvcking two.
92???? Mother’s Dick!! I didn’t know we were that bad. I was thinking top 50 and thats underperforming as far as I’m concerned.
That just further proves my point about needing to utilize Arch in the red zone.

Yep. We have no run threat in the red zone. Until we firmly establish a consistent run game, we’re going to keep struggling down there and QE will be pressured constantly. For Sarks offense to work, we have to run the ball successfully or at least have somewhat of a run threat. Opposing defenses don’t fear our running game.

This is why a QB who’s a threat to run or pass should be starting.

Clob -- I didn't have very much fun reading this LOLOL.

RZ offense isn't a talent issue...

This is why it would be nice to have that ‘big back’ aka Derrick Henry in the backfield. Is QE as mobile as AM, no. However, if we’re one dimensional to the passing game because our run game sucks… I’ll take QE experience at reading defenses and getting the ball out over AM ability to run at this point in the season.

I read all this and you know Georgia is better than us. And I don't think Arch Manning as the qb changes that. Their experience in games like this showed in the second half.

Their starting qb gets knocked out of the game their offense was flat. So they put in a backup who's not that good but their offense controlled the second half. And we still haven't figured out how to block their front 4 and they get to Ewers and stop our running game.

The penalties affected us and we were less aggressive. And I think that got to Sarkisian. Then there were dropped passes and missed assignments. So you see it's not all on carrot top. And you know we haven't had a penalty problem this year.

We have to clean all this up if we're going to run with the big dogs this year.

Georgia is better in what capacity? Coaching? I agree. Talent? Disagree.

Their backup QB is a highly sought after dual threat. He's inexperienced, but to say he isn't that good is misdirected.

I'll have to rewatch the OL. I'll try and find the time

Penalties were rough. OL only had one penalty. I think some of the no calls were especially detrimental to sustaining drives or ending theirs.

My boy, Golden, dropped a TD pass. It wasn't the easiest catch as he had to stretch/lay out for it, and had a dude hand checking him, but he's good enough to be expected to catch that ball.

We do need to clean things up. Everyone in the top 12 is a good football team and can beat anyone on any given day. This includes our game vs. Clemson.

Well it seemed it was like a dink and dunk passing game but it worked. Why can't we figure out their dl? And it wasn't just Golden, Helm dropped a couple of passes as well. We need to play like we know we're going to win. And you know Clemson didn't show me much against SMU.

We lost because we played a bad game on offense across the board, especially in the red zone.

You should be on air with Finebaum.

Tell me how Bert Auburn has the most field goals in Texas history but also might go down. It's the worst clutch kicker in Texas history

It's like jameis Winston in the NFL. He'll throw for 500 yd for touchdowns four picks and lose the game

What about the fg that took it into ot? The fg from 49 yards with 90 seconds left against Alabama? It's not his fault the defense couldn't hold it but he did his part. It was the same thing against Oklahoma last year. What happened the other day was he hit it but they called some penalty so he had to kick it again and he missed. Then he missed from 51. But he hit the next 2.

There are high standards when you're a kicker at Texas. It goes all the way back to Happy Feller and it holds true today. Inexperience in games like this got to him like it did everyone else.

I'm one of those guys that demand high standards from kickers, especially kickers on a scholly. Wind + distance is very difficult, I get it but in a DOME!.......You better be pushing your personal best because that's ALL YOU DO.

Seriously though, nobody's perfect but what bothered me about him was that he was smiling and laughing when he missed his kicks. That poked some anger demons caged inside me.

No one remembers the runner-up or 2nd place. Everyone remembers the Champion.

Sark has to quit with a the slow developing passing tree plays, misdirection screens and outside counter plays. Georgia plays too fast for that stuff. When you play a DL like Georgia you smash their ass straight away, or at least try to. They're too quick and athletic to try and block them in space

More quick hitting plays. More bunch formations, motioning or shifting to spread. More quick timing curls or speed outs.

You think Ewers is capable of executing an offense like that?

Agreed. I don't think you replace Quinn as the starter but Sark damn sure has to use Arch to add some wrinkles in the red zone. I'd actually like to see them lined up beside each other in the backfield. Majors could snap it to either one.
i agree here. Im loyal to QE but his stock as fallen majorly. Youre no longer protecting a qb and his first round draft stock. So you put in MANY packages for Arch to go in and throw wrinkles in the game. Let Quinn and Arch win it together and with that recipe i think you launch Arch into a amazing career at Texas the following years.

Problem with that is you have one less skill position for the defense to worry about.

Dude, you nailed my primary complaint. The wifey is damn near sick of me repeating it every single game. He could even incorporate all those routes in the same play...shocking concept.

And we still have that option available for us this year and a capable team to do it.
I respectfully disagree. We have a defense capable and a an offense that is ranked 92nd in the nation in red zone in scoring TDs. Bert Auburn has not that reliable in putting up the field goals either. Oregon is going to smoke us, IF we score more than Clemson.

Agreed but the athleticism of Arch fills that hole I think.
100%. Ewers may have experience (throwing 1-2 interceptions per game), but he is not going to light up the scoreboard like a pinball machine to overcome those turnovers.

Arch, has started 2 games this season and finished 3 when QE got injured. Arch led the Horns down the field and scored TDs, instead of settling for FG opportunities.

No please. The last thing I want to see is fans deciding strategy. The idea of risking the career of a generational QB is mind boggling at best and insane at worst. All we had to do to win that game was catch better, block better, and not go to sleep on 2 plays on defense

We called twice as many pass plays as run plays. Georgia did not respect the run game and in the second half we abandoned the run. Makes it pretty easy.

Shit, we didn't go Arch package until OT. Sark panicked and it made things extremely difficult.

Bobo didn't change is ideology when the backup came in and in fact, called QB draws and bamboozled PK.

Sorry, but Texas was outcoached in 2nd half
THIS!
