Colston Loveland's fumble with just over a minute left in the first half.

Michigan had third-and-12 from its 37. Loveland caught the short pass from Davis Warren on the run at the 42, and although two Texas defensive backs were closing on him, he had a blocker crossing from his right and enough of an angle on the Texas DBs that he had a good chance of picking up the first down. Instead, in turning upfield after the catch, he clips his left leg with the ball, which causes the fumble, and Jahdae Barron's recovery gave Texas the ball at Michigan's 42 with 59 seconds left in the half.

Texas moved in for the touchdown on Quinn Ewers' pinpoint touchdown pass to Matthew Golden with 10 seconds left in the half to make it a 24-3 lead and completely change the complexion of the game.

Had Loveland held onto the ball and reached midfield or perhaps gotten into Texas territory, and had Michigan caught a little momentum and gone it for a score just before halftime, it could have made the second half more of a contest.

Instad, his fumble led directly to Texas blowing the game open, which had to be a real gut punch for Michigan right before the half.
