* Man, remind me not to take time off after 6PM on Wednesday night when there are World Series games moving forward...
* Is anyone as apprehensive about this weekend's game against Baylor as I am? This is the type of game that good teams win because they take care of business, but this hasn't been a program that has taken care of business in a long time. I have some real reservations about this team's offense heading into the game.
* I hated hearing Tim Beck suggest that Sam Ehlinger could be back practicing as early as tomorrow. Give the kid the entire week. I'm just not a fan of players sitting out the bare minimum amount of time when we're discussing a brain injury. Ehlinger shouldn't come within a 100-foot pole of a football uniform until next week. Ok, off of my soapbox, I go.
* Huge moment this weekend for Shane Buechele. This season has been the complete opposite of the plans that he had for himself, but a big-time performance could certainly lift his platform within the program at the quarterback position quite a bit. Frankly, this team needs him to be the best player on the offense on Saturday.
* I'm fascinated by how the Longhorns will approach running the football against a horrible Baylor run defense. What happens when horrible meets horrible? We'll soon find out...
* Question... if Malik Jefferson wasn't having an incredible year, what name makes this sentence true: The best season by a Texas linebacker (not named Derrick Johnson who is in his own tier) since 1990 is from...

* There have been very few posts this week about Kris Boyd. Good for him.
* That 2016 defensive line class and the disaster that it is turning into is going to end up being a problem. What would you have said on signing day 20 months ago if I told you that NONE of the players in that class would make a dent by the end of 2018 and more than half of the group would be gone by the middle of 2018?
* I'm not sure I ever thought I'd see Texas with a Ray Guy Award winner (don't ask me why, I don't know), but if The Punter doesn't win it this year, throw the award away.
* I can't believe what has happened to Collin Johnson since his dominant performance against USC. I'm old enough to remember Tom Herman saying after the Iowa State game that his importance to the offense was such that Herman was personally involving himself with respect to getting Johnson going. Since then, the play of Johnson has turned into a Scooby Doo mystery.
* Someone please make a mash-up of Mo Bama highlights using the music from La Bamba.
* Seriously, nice performance by the men's basketball team last night against A&M. They have my attention.
* This Astros team has won me over. That game last night might be one of the best five World Series games that I have ever seen.
* I just can't get into fantasy football this season. I can't explain it, but the thirst just isn't there and my teams aren't terrible.
* I'm actually looking forward to the 11am kickoff on Saturday. Here's to a win on Saturday afternoon, so a Saturday night movie night with the wife can occur. One won't happen without the other...
