Giving the acc and big 12 champs auto byes is silly.

It's possible, if not likely, that the best 4 teams are in the SEC and B1G, not just this year, but on a yearly basis.

This year, it's very possible that 4 of the top 5 teams are in the SEC, including the top 2.

Picture this
Texas beats uga at home, then uga beats Texas in the rematch, getting the 1 seed.

You could see a 12 team field like this:

1. Uga (AP #1)
2 Ohio St (3)
3 Miami (7)
4 Utah (11)
5 Texas (2)
6 Ole Miss (4)
7. Oregon (8)
8. Bama (5)
9. Penn St (6)
10. Tennessee (9)
11. USC (10)
12. App St (20ish)

The 1 seed would have to play 5, 2, and 3 seeds to win it all.

The 5 seed would play 20, 11, 1, 3.

Don't overthink it, or get too cute.

Just rank the teams 1-11 (give the g5, b12, and acc auto bids, but give them true seeds).

I can't see the SEC and B1G putting up with this format too much longer.
