- They don’t get much more painful than that one. Probably the most devastating loss I’ve ever experienced in person.
- What an atmosphere that was. Our fans showed up in huge numbers and were LOUD and into the game the entire time. I technically sat on the OSU side but there was so many Longhorns in the stadium that it never really felt like “their side”. One of the cooler atmosphere’s I’ve been a part of.
- OSU fans were pretty nice and cordial, at least the ones around us. I was anticipating some major buffoonery based on stories I’d heard about our past meetings, but outside of some drunk OSU guy screaming that they “own us” after the game everyone was pretty cool. I will say, their fans did NOT bring the same level of energy that ours did. Our fans were rowdy and ready from the first kick, it felt like their fans only got into the game during big moments. Very proud of our fans.
- What a dagger of a way to end a special season. I loved this team. I especially loved this defense. So proud of our guys and I hope they hold their heads high. 25-5 over the last 2 seasons after the decade plus of the god awful football we watched feels like a breath of fresh air. It hurts that it ended this way but the future is still so bright, and it’s because of this group. They’ve changed everything about the trajectory of this program.
- Thank you, Quinn, for everything. Through the ups and the downs, Quinn has represented the University with class and integrity, and he’s given us everything he has. He’s got his flaws at times but I am so proud of what he was able to accomplish as our starting QB. History will remember him fondly. Longhorn Legend forever🤘
- I understand the frustration behind some of the play calling at times this season, and especially on the goal line last night, but anyone calling for a change at the play calling position needs to be evaluated. You take the good with the bad with Sark, and whether you want to admit it or not he evolves as a coach and has steadily made changes to his coaching style in his time here that are getting us closer and closer to reaching our ultimate goal. Sark is one of the most respected play callers in the entire sport and to remove that from his arsenal would be doing us a disservice. He was hired to be the coach that he is, and no coach is perfect. All of you arm chair HCs wouldn’t last one game with the responsibilities he takes on, on a weekly basis.
- I can’t help but feel like our offense will be fully unlocked next year with Arch leading the way. Keeping my previous words re: Quinn in mind, I do truly feel like one of Quinn’s major flaws was either an inability, or an unwillingness to stretch the field on a more regular basis. The inconsistencies with the deep ball, the reliance, almost to a fault, on the dump offs to the RBs, along with the fact that he is simply not the athlete that Arch is, I believe have all contributed to holding this offense back from truly reaching its full potential. As much as I love and appreciate Quinn for what he did in his time here, I think we will reach new heights under Arch. There may be some growing pains but by the end of next season I think our offense will be deadly.
- S/o to Michael Taaffe, Jahdae Barron, Andrew Makuba, David Gbenda, Vernon Broughton, Alfred Collins, Bill Norton, and all the other upperclassmen on the very VERY special defense we had this season. God they were all so fun to watch on a weekly basis, and they shined last night against probably the best offense in the entire country. They played well enough to win us that game. They will all go down as Longhorn Legends forever.
- Very interested to see what skill players we will have on offense next season. I know Bond is projected to leave but man I’d love one more HEALTHY season with him and Arch. I hope Blue sticks around. I think he will play better in a complimentary role with Baxter next year and give this offense an element it was missing this season.
- Pete K, thank you for being the best damn DC in the entire country. Here are your flowers big dog.
- To close out - what a special season. One we won’t soon forget. It hurts so bad still to have lost the way we did, but I’m so proud to be a fan of this team, and I love that our rivals now cheer for our downfall on the biggest stages instead of in the Alamo Bowl. These are the good times my friends. Might not seem like it right now, but you’ll miss these days at some point down the road. I’m happy my son is going to get to be a fan during an era like this, and I can’t wait for the day that he and I are celebrating in the living room when Texas wins our next national championship. Hook ‘Em frickin Horns ‘til the day I die🤘
