Relationship Check
How deep is your relationship with your Creator?
There are various relationship categories. Here’s a common list:
Family, Friendships, Acquaintances, Romantic, Intimate, Work, Committed, Long Distance, and other more nuances of the above. I’d like to focus on two of these below:
Acquaintanceships: These are relationships where you recognize someone but don't have a close connection or regular interaction.
There are days, if I’m being honest, my relationship with Jesus is an acquaintance. I might send up a drive by prayer. This usually happens when I have a lot going on. There are other days when I’m in constant communication, especially when I’ve got a problem, I feel I can’t handle on my own. I want to get back to a time when I was studying the Bible daily. When I was in my 40’s I was involved in a group called Bible Study Fellowship. From September to May, we would study a specific book of the Bible. I felt a much more intimate relationship then.
Intimate: closely acquainted; familiar, close private and personal, a very close friend.
I submit, if we are in an intimate relationship with Him, we can avoid panic attacks when trouble strikes and have a supernatural peace in the midst of the worst storms of life. Seeking His wisdom instead of our own can keep us out of all kinds of trouble.
Stay intimate with your Creator my friends!
Proverbs 1:7, Proverbs 2:6, James 1:5
