I recorded a podcast with The Athletic's Max Olson on Wednesday afternoon before Quinn Ewers decommitted. Our conversation centered around Texas and Oklahoma State. We recorded a great podcast, which I hope someone will listen to after the news on Wednesday night.
Here are the cliffs:
- Olson said Oklahoma State is a team that has played up to its potential. The Cowboys have 10 returning starters on defense and have a good pass rush, according to Olson. He describes Oklahoma State as very balanced.
- I asked Olson about Mike Gundy's success with recruiting players blue blood programs do not way. Olson said Gundy has the infrastructure to succeed, and coaches have a recruiting formula for success.
- Olson believes Texas' floor is finishing 5-5 this season. However, he believes the ceiling is seven or eight wins.
- Olson also said Texas could set its program back four years by firing Tom Herman after the season without a specific plan.
