IMG running back Noah Cain is one of the country’s most highly-recruited prospects in the 2019 class, and last week he had a chance to take in a Texas Longhorn practice while back in Texas for his spring break.
The Longhorns extended a recent scholarship offer to the 5-11, 200-pound Cain, and last week’s visit made a positive impression on the blue-chip running back.
“The coaching staff is incredible. (Running backs) coach (Stan) Drayton and I became really tight in the short time I was there,” Cain said.
The Longhorns featured one of the nation’s top running backs last year in D’Onta Foreman, but the Texas staff is looking to fill out its current running back depth chart and recruit players like Cain to plan for the future. The UT coaches told him they could help him succeed both on and off the field.
“They were telling me they could help me achieve all my personal goals and Coach Drayton was saying I could come in early and make an impact,” Cain said.
A four-star prospect, Cain was accompanied on the UT visit by his mother, and he said she was also impressed by the overall experience.
“My mom loved it. Coach Herman is really good people,” Cain said.
Cain already holds more than 20 scholarship offers from some of college football’s top programs. He’s not ready to narrow his focus at this early stage, but said the Longhorns are high on his list.
“They definitely caught my eye and they will be one of my top schools,’ Cain said.
