Still trying to run down a few rumors but here's what we know for now per sources:
- It was a shorts, shoulder pads and helmets practice. The team has still not gone full-pads.
- We reported WR Lorenzo Joe was injured yesterday. Today, we heard that the injury was at least significant enough to where Joe was slated to miss most of - if not all - the rest of fall camp.
- Jerrod Heard continues to work with the WRs and is now even out of the black non-contact QB jersey. It seems like his switch to WR could be becoming official. Per a source, the staff is dreaming up ways to get the ball in Heard's hands as a playmaker.
- No changes along the starting offensive line. Tristan Nickelson remains poised to enter the 2016 season as the team's starting right tackle for now.
- D'Andre Christmas continues to work with the 2nd group at DT as seemingly highest freshman DL on the totem pole.
- Freshman DT Chris Daniels is still in the pit.
- Finally, it's a situation we'll continue to monitor, but we've now heard from a few sources around practice that RB D'Onta Foreman could be a little banged up. After contacting a few folks in the know, we don't feel it's anything to be too worried over at this time, though. Here's the bottom line about what we may hear about Foreman and Warren being "held back" in practice moving forward this August: the staff knows the two-headed monster of Foreman and Warren will be the bread-and-butter of the offense and - in some ways - the team's identity. I don't think the staff wants to take any chances with those two not being fresh versus Notre Dame.
