Teammate Michael Andrew, came in an oh so close for third, at 3 hundreths of a second behind third place for the bronze. Oh, man, that has to be heart breaking.

After 2 laps, .. Finke about a half body length behind the leader. Finke still holding onto third.

Finke about a full body length behind the leader on the start of the 5th lap.
Too many comnercials interrupting the commentary of this swim. Annoying.
Finke has alternated in between 3rd and 4th during the last lap.
Just at the halfway mark now. 15 lengths to go. Finke still in third, not really deviating much from a half torso to full body length behind the leader.
The commentators did mention, .. this race would be between lanes 3-6. Playing true to form. Finke in lane 5, holding third by a half length.
Katie Ledeckys 1500m race didn't have this many commercials. Not that i remember so.
7 lengths to go, ... Finke less than a half body length behind. Doing yeomans work of staying within gold medal distance for the chase at the end.

That underwater replay at the turn on the last length, .. he was like Tony Dorsett, basically went from 1st to 5th gear on 1 kick of his feet.

The 1500s really emphasized how terrible Michael Andrew's last 50 (Free) was in the 200 IM. After swimming 1450 meters, Finke went an amazing 25.78 on his last 50. In the women's 1500, Katie Ledecky went 29.95 on her last 50. And in the 200 IM, Andrew went 30.69 on his last 50. Not a great statement for the unconventional "race pace" sprint training that Andrew does. His lack of endurance was really exposed in Tokyo. On the other hand, Ledecky and FInke are freaking beasts. Incredible job by Finke tonight.
