USC and UCLA to the big 10

The only reason “conferences” exist is for sports. If the “pac12” drops football and basketball there is no “pac12”
The only schools that want to drop sports are tree and cubby (stanford and cal). They are butthurt over NIL. How ironic, they are 100% BLM and yet they aren't for paying black athletes.

Any school that is against NIL, but 100% ok with a student starting up their buisness from their dorm or an English student writing a best selling novel is nothing but a hypocrite

My folks had season tickets for over 30 years.
Correct me if I'm wrong but section 105 was on the 50 yard like. I was on 102 and that was between the 15 and 20 yard line. But i was only 12 rows up and the view was great you could see the whole field. Good times.

FWIW - on 105.3 the Fan in Dallas today, they were having a discussion about a rumor that the PAC XII Presidents were actually considering dropping football and bball, to focus on their "mission" of education.
Might as well only 2 of the remaining 10 are spending money on athletics. UCLA and AZS spend next to nothing.

I'm certain that ST does not want to drop athletics. There are too many former athletes that will stop that from happening.

Cal's biggest success in fb was when Aaron Rogers was there. Remember that we got chosen over them to play MI in the Rose Bowl.

Anyway there's a funny story about that. Àfter that story they voted to expand their stadium. You especially would get a kick out of what some people did to stop it. ✔️ It out.

For what it's worth, when I mentioned the numbers projected for Big 10 payoffs after USC gets there, maybe $ 75-80 million vs. what Irish take home today, estimated at $15 million, Irish fan response was Notre Dame doesn't care about the money. Will see.

Those Golden Domers have been putting on this self righteous, insufferable bull**it forever. It's one the reasons why I can't stand them.

One more thing. UCLA talking not wanting join the Big XII because their academic standing didn't match theirs.

Bitch please your athletic department is $102 million dollars in debt. You were the only PAC XII school that supported Larry Scott. You need the Big X's money.

Lastly you got your ass kicked in the Pac XII what's the Big X going to do with you? Btw, you're going to have the same bull's-eye on your back that TX and OK have. And in your case you'll probably won't win many games.

This is the correct move IMO. Nothing out there adds value regionally. Even Clemp makes each slice of the pie smaller by their addition. The league at 16 is going to be fun.

Oh how things have changed. $200 a seat at dkr (non-donation civilian) got us around 35-45yd line 20rows up. Great view of the entire field but damn, too expensive for a tune up game.

At home the beer is affordable, parking is free & I don't have to pay for a hotel or hope my DD is legal to drive. Haven't been back since.
Not to mention having to sit right next to big boy who showered last week and next to him is his perfect 10 blonde date.
The home recliner and ac es muy bueno.

I disagree. The sooner they clamp this down as 40 CFB haves and the rest have nots, the faster they can get NFL TV money. NFL TV money split among 40 teams.

I do not see this happening. At all. They will go after the ACC I'm thinking Clemson Miami, FSU, and VT. The ACC is destined to be gutted.

What's going to happen to NC and our friend Mack Brown?I see them Pitt, Boston College, going to the Big X. NC is a national brand. And Mack has tremendous political skills.

Hey there's a power grab going on right in front of us.

Your formula will kill 50% of the CFB fanbase. Reducing the number of teams is a loser. What is needed is efficient price discovery for each team.

Nope, why would the SEC compete against itself? ACC GOR is not up until 2036.

Edit: ESPN not SEC

Huge move yesterday. ND and the B12 apparently are in a deal with NBC to package programming. ND isn't going to the B12 or the B10. ND is going to stay with the ACC but will have a separate TV deal as an independent. NBC will take on B12 games as well to fill out inventory. Why is this important? We are very close to getting 4 16 team conferences. What happens with the playoff? If the playoff stays at 4 teams, do we get 4 auto bids in the new playoff instead of 4 pageant winners after 2025?

1. WVU or UCF goes to ACC

2. 5 teams from Pac join B12.

I pray they don't stay at a 4 team playoff. It needs to expand to at a minimum of 8 teams.

What happens to PAC? Does Mountain West join them?

That's going to be the rub. I assume the snobs (stan/berkley) quit football. They are too good for people in fly over country. Osu and WSU's join mountain west. Then pick 4-5 teams. I imagine the first to jump win. This is going to be some entertaining theater.

My ideal playoff is 4 auto bids for conference winners. Then 8 at large bids. Do away with conference championships and make everybody play a 10 game conference schedule. I hate watching SEC teams play 4 cupcake schools every year. More interesting games peaks more interest.
One thing I would do is to make the conference itself choose which team will represent the conference as their champion. And that team gets the automatic bid. The committee just picks the at large teams with no more than 2 teams represented per any conference

UCLA athletics is broke.

We all know the Pac XII has a terrible TV deal.

We all know the Big X has the best tv deal.

This is a no brainer for UCLA and SC for that matter.

And right around July 1 look for at least 4 and maybe 6 Pac XII schools to join the Big X.

With the Pac XII it's the Big X or bust.

However their 4 corner state schools just might join the Big XII. But that one's just a guess.

That is interesting. I would think that that Col, Utah, Az, Asu would be a good fit in B12, UW/OR in B10 and the rest in Mountain West. But, that would only make a little geographical sense, I guess the main thing is the money. On second thought, I could also see the B10 picking off KU and then also CU to B10. It is all crazy. Next year, already the B12 will look very different

The governors in OR and WA have made it clear that they will have to take their little brother with them if they choose to go to another conference.

So I'm thinking those 4 would plus ST and Cal to the Big X.

And like you I think CO, the AZ schools plus UT would be great for the Big XII.

But it really depends on what kind of TV contact Yourmans can negotiate for the Big XII after TX and OK leave.
