Welp.... I finally get to be that obnoxious parent that says his kid was accepted (sort of) to Texas. He was given the path of going to UTA for a year and then auto admissions. I loathe the top 7 or 10% rule.... Whatever it is now. Anyway, hey.... He got in. Just a year later than we hoped. Apparently this is awarded to 1,000 students per year in the state, but that didn't keep him from being pretty disappointed.
We're happy, even if he's disappointed. We're also wondering if this means he's about to be that kid you hear about accepted to your Floridas, Michigans, UVAs, etc and not their home state's flagship. He applied to all of those too. Anyway, good times. You're all welcome for the information.
