Pretty much don't give a sh!t about the NBA anymore, but the old lady is out of town and I turned it on for schitts and giggles.

If you think this Celtics team could make it 5 games against the 80-86 Celtics-- I've got a fvcking bridge to sell you.

Clown show.

They are about to take down the greatest dynasty of this century. The Warriors are playing in the 6th finals in 8 years. Only reason it's not 8 and 8 is injuries. They might not be the 80's Celtics but they are a damn good team.

Well they come from being 15 points behind last night to winning by 12. They outscored the warriors 41/16 in the 4th quarter. Pretty boy was only 1 for 6 from three point land the Celtics did a good job denying him the ball. If they can contain the warriors 3 point game they can win.

Crazy comeback from behind win, Warriors were up then I turn the channel and Celtics win. Warriors also had a long rest and playing at home....

Next to college and pro football, the NBA was my next favorite sport. Not anymore. They left fans like me behind with all their woke social justice BS.

As far as the Celtics today versus the 80’s there’s no comparison. Today’s Celtics would get destroyed. Same for most other teams today. Today’s game is played with little to no physicality. Watch the Netflix documentary about the Celtics and Lakers rivalry from the 1980’s. Watch how physical they played versus today. Today’s game is all about the 3 point shot as opposed to the physical low post game of the 1980’s

I loved watching guys like Mchale and Parish battling it out with Laimbeer and Jabbar and Rambis. Those guys to this day still hate each other. That’s how serious it was. Jordan’s Bulls of the 90’s were the same way.

Magic Johnson and Larry Bird are best friends lol. They don't hate each other to much.

They’re friends for sure but not best friends. They went at each other pretty good back in those days.

Two other little guys who were just as nasty to play against were Isiah Thomas and John Stockton. Those guys looked like choirboys but they were straight up assassins who had no problem playing dirty. They didn’t care if they got you hurt or ended your career.

Those Lakers-Celtics Finals from 84,85, and 87 were fun to watch.

Boy they used to.

Trust me.
They had dinner together at Bird’s house in 85 and that’s when they became good friends. They still hated each other on the court though no doubt.

I watched that new show on HBO called Showtime. It’s about the Lakers from the time Jerry Buss bought them in 1980. Great watch if you haven’t already seen it.

I don't know if you're familiar with his career but for John C. Reilly to play sometime like Jerry Buss was 😜.

Oh, I have.

You can also watch "Magic and Bird" on HBO-- documentary.

When Converse wanted to film a commercial with both Magic and Larry, they wanted Larry to come to LA during the summer break to film it.
Larry told Converse to kick rocks. Then said if they wanted to film a commercial, they'd have to do it in French Lick, Indiana-- his home town.

So Magic shows up to Larry's farm... in a Limo. They shoot the commercial, and after it's done, Larry's mom invites Magic to come to dinner. She had made fried chicken with all the fixings. Magic, being Magic- transforms back into "Ervin" and charms Mrs Bird. By dinners end, she adores Ervin.

Bird would later say "I didn't know if I really liked Magic, but that Ervin fella was a pretty good dude."
