I know both these people, the white music director and black performer. They are good friends going back years. A white woman overhears their joking conversation, decides the white man is being racist, reports the white man for racism, and he gets fired without the black friend even being asked about it. The black friend is upset about it and speaking out. It's like a witch hunt these days.
