We Need a New BaseBall Coach

We are down in baseball and it sucks to see 3 other big 12 teams in the cws and having a great chance with one of the 3 probably winning it all....when we should be the school of the conference doing that every year.....times have changed and I might be sour about it but I hate it....

Love seeing Miami and Florida 2&Q, lol. The $EC doesn't look so mighty in baseball this year after all. Glad to see the Big 12 representing so well. Just wish Texas was there. It doesn't seem right unless the Horns are in Omaha every year.

Hook'em!
for clarification, Miami is in the ACC. Another conference that the pundits were saying would be extremely difficult to beat.

The latest with the Texas baseball coaching search is that, well, there isn’t a whole lot to report right now. After Texas interviewed Tulane’s David Pierce and Houston’s Todd Whitting on Saturday, the search slowed to almost a halt, which was partially due to UT President Greg Fenves heading to his scheduled trip in China on behalf of the university.

There have been some rumblings of more candidates being examined closely, but we’ve yet to confirm specific names.

Now that this search isn't rapidly moving along at the moment, it’s fair to wonder if Texas is going to become linked to a coach that coached in the College World Series. But from what we’ve heard, TCU’s Jim Schlossnagle still isn’t on Texas’ radar right now, though. In the meantime, more waiting for Texas fans, but the process should again start to heat up soon because, well, because it has to and Texas is only going to hurt itself by dragging things out after interviewing a couple of candidates. That being said, we’d be surprised if another new name doesn’t eventually emerge. (McComas)

Well, unless they're waiting for Tadlock, I see no reason not pull the trigger on Pierce today.

The baseball Gods have listened to my prayers! I was being really sour about the big 12 teams making it as far as they did in the College World Series and making a big 12 final. I did not want a big 12 team to bring home the hardware when we are down. Well Arizona came back and double dipped okie state to play for a natty. Arizona was also picked 9th in their conference in beginning of the season. They now will be playing for a natty on Monday and looking for their 5th to tie their rival asu. And this is their head coach FIRST YEAR as their new head coach. Now I have secretly been rooting for Coastal Carolina to do well in the college world series with nobody giving them enough love and being picked 8th in the cws to win it all. Can they be another Fresno State? We will see but Coastal Carolina double dipped tcu to get their chance to play for their 1st ever national championship in baseball. We definitely should look at CC coach and maybe zonas as well.

Hook 'Em

I was pulling for the Pokes just because I don't want to see another team with a lot of NCs get closer to our total. But I also hate most of the other schools in this conference more and more every day, so I don't really care that much.

And then there were none...Okie State and TCU both sent packing today in Omaha. CWS Finals pit Arizona against Coastal Carolina. Since neither of those coaches are potential Longhorn targets, let's get this search done, Mike!

Time to put the full court press on O'Connor--make him sweat the decision to stay or become a Longhorn...

Not defending Perrin's work here, but I haven't seen any indication that we were actually pursuing Tadlock or Holliday. Each is coaching at his alma mater.

Why does nobody want the job? Expectations to high?

Coaches already succeeding at the highest levels aren't going to fall over themselves to come here without a significant increase in pay that their current employers won't match. Why would they?
