Week of 9/18-9/23 (Wk. 4) Non-Texas games thread

I totally agree with #1. I also agree with #2, but would add an asterisk. Coaches that focus on the process and every individual person doing their job (like Saban has pretty much perfected) eliminates a lot of the mental swings that cause unnecessary losses or losses to inferior teams.
I agree, but we seem to be the exact type of team whos play on any given Sat is a reaction the week before.
Rice, we started slow, they heard about it all week.
Bama, played really good and aggressive, then they heard how good they were all week.
Wyoming, came out slow and have now heard about their slow start again all week.

This is actually the exact reason I think we look really sharp against Baylor day.

I’m thoroughly enjoying every second of this slaughter in Eugene! 😂 Deion’s Flava Flav style hype train is predictably derailing gloriously. 😂

Hey ESPN, how about another Gameday in Boulder? You f***ing ass sucking morons. 😂😂😂

BYU is officially receiving a B12 "zebras" welcome to the conference. The zebras are doing everything they can to hand this game to KU.

Beware, next week may be interesting.

I know Deion and CU have been getting a lot of attention and they are getting their ass kicked today, but a little perspective. They went 1-11 last year. Even if they go 6-6 it’s an amazing coaching job no matter how you slice it. .
Edit: my dumbass forgot they beat ttu, not tcu. I quit

I agree completely. It's the media overhype train that has pushed this. I think a lot of it started with tcu though. They lost something like 80% of their production from last yrs natty runner up team. Almost exactly like UT in '10 after losing the NC, we sucked wind.

It was a good win, and they’ll finish with a good recored but they’ll probably drop 1 or 2 more.
I don’t know man. They’re gonna be favored in every regular season game they play the rest of the year. If Milroe keeps developing, they’re gonna be scary at the end of the year.

It's going to be LSU or Bama vs Jawja in the SEC Championship.

Deon has angered a lot of coaches because he pretty much ran off almost all of the players and replaced it with transfers. They don't seem to be doing well in recruiting. Apparently he's building his teams around the transfer portal A lot of coaches resent Deon for not even trying to keep any returning players. Coaches have made it clear they don't like him. I'm actually surprised Oregon stopped scoring.

Deion will do well in the long run. I think he is doing what he needs to do. Eff, what other coaches think of him.

Colorado was 1 -11 the year before. He told them up front, the free ride is over. Compete or leave. A bunch of them decided to leave.
He’s cocky but at the end of the day as a famous left handed pitcher said years ago, it ain’t bragging if you can do it.

They are just salty they didn’t think of it first lol. I mean seriously why do other coaches give a rats ass how another coach builds his team?

Did you hear the SMU/TCU game will end in 2 years?
Who would have ever thought that Kansas would bring an undefeated team into memorial stadium. I have more respect for Oklahoma's defense now. Man if Cam Rising doesn't come back Utah wil be in big trouble. Notre Dame did everything right but those Ohio State receivers scare you to death if you're on the other team. Arkansas lost on the last play as well. Our friend Mack Brown's tar heels are 4/0 and should climb a couple of spots this week. But they don't have the team that can blow you out. Overall I went 7/5 but last play hurt I would have been 8/4.

That Kansas offense is no joke. Haven't seen the line but somewhere around 80 wouldn't surprise me.

After the game coach Dan Lanning said that Colorado is fighting for clicks were fighting for victories. Deon has always had a lot of people who don't like him.

I think fans of college football, coaches and the CFP itself are going to wish they had the 8 team playoff this year.

UGA is good
Michigan
Ohio state
Texas
Notre Dame
Florida stare
Washington
USC
Utsh
Oregon
Alabama
Are all good, and all could and you could legit see any of them in the playoff this year

Good point. However, I would add “ou sucks”😉

I was watching a CBS halftime show. Emmanuel Acho said that Notre Dame only had 10 men on the field on that last play and they cameras backed him up. Damn

Not bad

The dude was a generational CB. He wasn't big on contact though. Laning's comments were nasty but so were the CSU coach's comments. The Deion experiment is going to be fun, especially in the B12. Watching all the leftovers get beatdown by Deion is going to be comical.

I wouldn’t put OU in there. I think Texas is gonna beat OU and OU doesn’t have the schedule to make an argument as a 1 loss team.
Lol. You are right. I should have checked my wording. I was trying to be funny and meant to say ou sucks for the hell of it, definitely not that they are playoff contenders

There are 4 new teams in the Big XII this year. All 4 of them lost their first conference game and all of them by double digits. How do you like you're new teams Brett?

Here's where I think things stand after yesterday..

Our Kansas, OU, BYU, & K State are the only games that should even be competitive.

Kansas is scary to me because I do not believe our passing defense has been tested yet.
With that said, I am confident in our defensive line.
I think the KU game, like most of the rest of our games is going to come down to how Quinn plays.

As far as OU, call me crazy, but I've been pencilling this in as a loss since last year. I don't think people recognize how difficult it is going to be for Texas to show up and match OUs motivation to defend their historically embarrassing loss last year. That type of motivation doesn't come very often.

I haven't really dove into BYU or K State yet, but BYU kind of seems like a better version of Wyoming. Except BYU has a servicable and veteran QB in Slovis.

One thing is for sure though to me regardless of who we are playing, we absolutely have to clean up some of the "fat" we've been seeing (dropped td passes, missed blocks, muffed punts, easy field goal miss, fumble, getting beat in coverage, etc).
Last nights game should have been 60-0.

Those small dumb mistakes that arent going to be so forgiving against better teams.
